Everything's in a mess AND all is well... Mistakes are our teachers. They come from our ignorance (not knowing), therefore unavoidable. We are all ignorant in one area or another, otherwise we wouldn't be in Earth School anymore. Mistakes result in suffering (having negative thoughts and feelings). Suffering directs our attention to within, prompts self-exploration and evaluation, the identification of the mistake (when, where, why and how the mistake was made) as one attempts to avoid future suffering. If successful, the result is growth. The ability to see a past action or belief as a mistake is the result of a new, higher level of consciousness, from which the shortcomings of the previous, lower level of consciousness can be observed. The path is challenging, but the results are worth all the effort. Thank you Nada for sharing the pearls of your gentle wisdom, they are much appreciated.

WE are ALL highly ignorant....for WE only see in part Bro.....I dont believe in mistakes...only lessons......but if I did, I d surely be a Master at them.....so row row row yer boat...Gently down the stream....on occasion WE need to 🔥 up the engines so WE dont go Down in the whirlpool areas.....Fight the good fight.....Peace to you friend and thank you for your precious time and thoughts!....🌄

Reality is multi-faceted and often you might not be in a position to define what is really a mistake or bad. Both "good and bad" things can lead to suffering. I don't necessarily think the root to dealing with suffering is to learn from your mistakes. It can help in that area, but the main reason you suffer, is simply that you're identified with your ego.

We were not nurtured to cultivate self love and compassion for ourselves because it is seen as being selfish, non-caring towards others; we are told to impress others to make someone else happy and disregard our own happiness, therefore we are hard on ourselves. We need to be more in tune to our inner being to become one.

Thank you so much, I meditated as I was listening to you and I decided to write to my parents. Im 31, almost 32, and I feel like the child and teenager inside of me is still suffering, so before I start my own family with my loved one (which is a fantastic person :) I'm so lucky) I want to free myself with the truth. And as I realize the truth is not easy but its all love in the end. II encourage myself to do this cause I know it's the right way, and it will help me forgive myself and others. I pray for you all with peace, love and compassion.

I am really enjoying your thoughtful videos. Having been brought up in a family with a narcissistic mother who called me a bitch since I was young, I developed very negative self talk which developed into self destructive behavior. I’m 56 now and I’m putting the pieces of my life together. I believe we must make amends with our past to have peace in the present. For me, this meant me revisiting painful experiences during meditation which brought me to tears and than patting my chest or rubbing my heart while I said in a comforting voice, “it’s ok baby.... you did the best you could.....it is the past.....you are safe now.” I speak to myself like I would speak to a young child and I’ve to practiced this many times and I really feel it has helped me tremendously on my healing journey.

OMG... You hit the nail on the head at 8:55 when you said that most of the negative self talk is from others outside of ourselves. I never realized this. That is incredibly eye-opening because when I get mad at myself for making mistakes I hear other's voices saying "You idiot, how could you? Or, "You're so stupid you can't do anything right!" Now you've made me aware that those statements start with "You..." or "You're..." That said, you just shared something new I hadn't heard yet. Thank you, and Be Blessed for sharing your insight 🙏♥️

When you realized you were that friend you were longing to have and looking for... We are our own worst enemy and our own best friend. Pick a side 🙂 I had that realization when I was thinking about my friends. I love all of them but then I don't feel appreciated by them. I always found a reason why they might not love me the same as I love them. I would literally ruin myself for them a million little times if I have to. I am so careful to not hurt them in any way. I am willing to drop everything just to pay attention to them and give them everything I have and all my time if they so, please. I was always there for them. Listening, understanding them and making them feel that they are not alone. Not when they have me. I wanted to have a friend that appreciates me, that listens and understands me. Who genuinely cares. Yet when I am the one needing comfort and a friend, there was no one. I was silent one time for a whole day, they were sitting beside me, not even a greeting thrown my way. Sadness is obviously written across my face. I didn't expect them to comfort me, but inside, I was silently wanting to be heard, to be cared for, to be comforted. But the day ended with me apologizing for not talking to them because perhaps they wanted to give me space. I apologized for not socializing with them, for not laughing with them. They said what was I talking about. That they didn't even notice that I was a little bit different that day. It hurt but I didn't say anything and just laughed it off. Maybe I was just being silly and overthinking. It made me realize that if I were not to talk to them, they wouldn't talk to me at all unless they needed something from me. A company, a listener, or whatever use I am to them. But when I was the one in need, there was no one. Then I realized that the friend I was wanting to have, was myself. I was all that I needed. I envy them for being treated that way by me, yet I was such a monster to myself. I just told myself that at least I was able to give love and I know that I was capable of it. I wanted me to love me. And slowly, I was trying to build that relationship with myself. It's awkward and a bit difficult when you were so used to hating yourself. You know everything about yourself so it's about what you will do with that knowledge. But at the same time, you feel lost and confused about who you really are. I was silently a little bit hating on them for not being the friend I needed. But I realized that I was the problem and not them. That not everyone will fit my "perfect friend fantasy". That maybe they also have their own storm and conflict inside of them. I have to understand that. And with that, I expected less from people. Just let them be themselves and stop projecting yourself, your own beliefs and standards to them. Because they were doing their best with the knowledge that they had at that time. Knowledge is power when you use it. So even when you know something and is not using them, it's useless. But it's their own problem. It's our own problem to deal with ourselves. Everyone is in their own journey and pace. We can only guide each other and empower each other but at the end of the day, it's all up to us to choose for ourselves. We are gifted with freedom after all. Thanks for attending my TED talk 🙂 May you find happiness. Lots of love to you my friend✨💖 Edit: messed up word positioning. If only we can also relive a moment and avoid a mistake, yet learning won't happen without making mistakes right?

Meister Eckhart: "The most important person is the one in front of you". That really works for me in learning what compassion is. When two persons, sitting next to each other realize that the other is the most important person, then there is no sense of self-importance. And there is only Compassion for each other & with it there's complete Attention. Compassion cannot be personal. After all that word means Common Passion. I hope this helps as much as it has helped me to love everyone & every thing.

Honestly I am that type of person who LOVE to help others -like, I rather suffer from helping if it's too hard to do, than to see people suffer while I can actually help them, while I myself being rude to myself with self-hatred. So when u start talking about the exercise imagining someone we care.. I literally cried. Even now actually hehe. I uhh.. a very well thanks to u for making this video, reminds me and engaged me to be the one who care about me myself. U helped me to learn about compassion. P.s. sorry if I had a bad English

Being rejected by my own family , is so downing me and feelings are so hard. They pass by me as if am not there. The worse thing is they turn around to change the accusations and wrong doing towards me. It took me five years to heal myself from this toxic situation. Alone but content with myself, although, painful memories apper to my mind, I try so hard to console my self .... it's hard to let go and carry on with my life. You're such a beautiful soul, I appreciate your sweet advice, I take so heartily. Thanks,

I've been listening your videos while painting for the past two hours and never have I been so profoundly touched or had such an intense feeling of understanding and empathy for not only myself but for you (who has worked so hard to come to a place so compassionate and insightful), but every single person I have and will encounter on my journey. Often I struggle with empathizing with people who complain about their lives, as I've always had this philosophy that it is ourselves that are in charge of our own realities, yet I always seem to fail when putting this concept into practise. I seem to yearn to victimise myself, to find an excuse why I haven't taken control of MY life yet and achieved my goals, yet look down upon others who do the same (and really, it is everyone doing the same). My dad has always told me that to even begin to consider criticizing another, we must first look deep into ourselves - to pick the log from our own eye before we point out the splinter in another's. And I have figured that once, if we do ever reach that point of contention (and that is one of the noblest of goals, in my opinion), we will no longer have any desire to criticize others anyway because we will have realised that it is not a suffering that is unique to us, that the world doesn't wake up to oppress us, but it is a collective strife that each being battles; something to be looked upon with utmost compassion, empathy and love.

Such good advice. Sometimes I use the imagery of my 3 year old self. That scared child whose parents had just divorced and then I suffered a viscous attack by a pit bull dog that put me in the hospital. So much fear and grief and despair. It’s such a moment for love and compassion rather than judgment and criticizing. So, if you find it hard to give yourself the love and compassion you deserve-trying giving it to yourself as a child.

We are all fantstic beings, but our masters and parents are only appreciating us when we serve the matrix as they are doing. We are the smartest species on earth and more people are suffering more then ever and we always beat ourselves up if we fail(the ratrace) we are not rats and should be free and caring for our own species and others. We have to change the world and STOP BEATING OURSLVES UP. From the day you are born you where indoctrinated with sick culture(working hard is good, abusing others and other species is good, destroying mother nature is good, greed is good and so called beauty in body is supposed to be like this or that) You are great the way you are , but culture and especcially billboards and tel a vision is indoctrinating you on all levels you are not good and worth of love. we create a false persona to please culture and parents, bosses, friends, spouses...

Great suggestions, I began my day in part viewing two of your uploads and now preparing to end my day I'm again viewing another of your videos. Strange the way KZbin algorithm materialised Awaken Insight. I suppose because your points of view and frames of reference reverberate with my lived experience and own conclusions/feelings it's comforting to listen and reflect. I've this year begun my seventh decade here and am so grateful - pandemic included, to be able to experience and realise the commencement of our 21st century. Thank you for uploading, no doubt your wisdom for many is akin to a soothing, existential balm. Best heartfelt from Melbourne, Australia.

Thank you .i have had a life of people making hiding me . It has me feel like I'm not worthy of love and any respect. I'm trying to be more gentle on myself but it seems the more I live in a small town of people who have torn me down more than I care to think .

Very true we call ourselves STUPID and allow others to stamp us the same and later we acknowledge it and that ultimately becomes a part of our character and we withdraw into a shell never to come out again....Time and again we hope for some kindness from others but we forget to be kind to ourselves

It's interesting how self-discipline comes so much more easily when I treat myself as you're saying here. Your talks are an oasis in this love-parched world.
