My cousin said they used to plant in the furrow. He said they ran disks the first time they cultivated and turned them away from the corn to throw dirt out. Then once it was tall enough they ran it toward the corn and threw it to them.

Kinda what I had in mind.

@@Jtwes flip sides with those rollers and pull the dirt away and come back next week and pull it back is the ticket. I use a single disc that I modified to flip around but I found a couple of rollers that I am sure would work better. Love to watch those little tractors work…..looks good clean toooooo 🧡😜

Silver Queen was the only sweet corn my grandparents grew. They were farmers and grandpa would have up to 3 spots out in the corn fields that was nothing but sweet corn. That's not counting to the corn he had in the garden. He would usually plant 3-4 rows then wait a week, plant another 3-4 rows, wait another week. He'd do that and have corn all summer long. They were obsessed with their tomatoes, onions, beats, and green beans. Guess I can say those were the best days of my life.

I always appreciate you reminding us about Gods Love. Love being defined as visible evidence. I remind city folk around me always whining Is God real? Every planting season God gives 1 kernel of corn, we plant it and thru germination life comes from no life. Reminder of Easter and proof of Gods existence. Then thru Gods Love and abundance we grow and receive thru faith and Gods gift of water from heaven, between 800 to 1200 kernels of corn ( 2 ears ) . Nothing or no man science has ever approached this blessing.

Great video Joey. I had the same problem with my incredible and golden queen corn having to replant, but my poor stand had to do with rabbits deer and some cold weather with too much rain. My corn is coming along but very inconsistent. Good luck to you and can't wait until it gets tall!

It will probably do better than April planting. The Jimmy red I just planted has a lot better look to it compared to the Hastings.

I went back and looked at the video again and from 5:55 to 6:05 it looks like the rolling cultivators are mounted on a shank with a 45* angle instead of 90* where the plate is welded on. Also the shanks are then mounted to a short bar mounted on the lifting arm. I started sandblasting arms for the Super A last week and found some broken welds that need welded up. Hopefully I can get them together and on the tractor to figure out how I can mount my rolling cultivators.
@Jtwes Жыл бұрын
There’s nothing wielded on to the cultivators. They use a shank that’s bolted to the frame of the cultivators.
@customcutter100 Жыл бұрын
@@Jtwes Yes, I know. But the 1" shaft/shank is welded onto the plate that bolts to the cultivator. Also the 1" shaft appears to be cut at a 45* angle where it welds to the mounting bracket that bolts onto the cultivator. Sorry for the confusion.

Those cultivators did a nice job again Joey. Glad the deer fence is working so far and yelp you'll get a lot stronger effect from it with your boots off - wanna know how I know? 😁

Thanks for another great video! I got the 100 timed and running, cleaned the carb and had to adjust the idle as it was idling about 1000RPM! It's showing 0 oil pressure so I'll pull the oil pan and pump on Monday and check that. Probably a blown gasket or warped cover plate from what I've read. I always thought that you had the rolling cultivators mounted on a crossbar. Now I see that they are on 2 short stub shafts. Also it looks like the mounting shanks are cut at a 45* angle and welded to the "swiveling" bracket. Could you do a video on those cultivators, brackets, and how they mount? I bought some rolling cultivators, but haven't found any shanks that fit them. I might have to fabricate some from scratch. Thanks and God Bless, Ken
