@@Jtwes Completed connecting two of the cultivators to the toolbar. I have the "flat" side facing the plant row. As I travel forward, the soil is scuttled AWAY from the edge of the row, loosening soil and weeds. Should I actually have the cultivator angled to push the soil toward the row?

Good Morning, Thanks for your GREAT videos they have helped me a lot Question: Will the Rolling Cultivator Assembly, 4 Gang, 14 1/2 " Spider that are sold by AGRI Supply work on my 140? Thanks for the assistance.

Hey David I don’t see why they wouldn’t. Lot of guys have got them there. You would just need to mount them using the extension arms. Thanks for watching.

Hi, I bought a scrap cultivator and it has the spiders like yours but it is a different attachment. Instead of the shank it attaches to about a 3 inch pipe. I want to modify it for my Farmall B. I am looking to fabricate some shanks as shipping for 4 of these to Canada is almost $350 Canadian. I can salvage the base but I am looking for the angle of the shank so I can cut an inch and a 1/4 shaft and weld it on. By chance, would you be able to measure the angle of the shaft to the top of the swivel plate?
@Jtwes3 ай бұрын
Hey G can you maybe take a screenshot and email it to me so we’re on the same page of what you wanted measured. Joey@jtwes.com

I see one set has a square cultivator clamp and then these you show off the tractor have round cultivator clamps. If you have the round one will they work in the same way you have yours set up on the tractor or do you have to have the square clamps.
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
Hey Wave they both will do the same job. The round ones are actually Lilliston brand for there two roll cultivators. The square ones are IH Farmall brand.

Found the rolling cultivators at agrisupply but where do I find the mounts for the 140 like you have?
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
Agri has the stem part that hooks to the frame and Burch store has the bars. He actually has them both.
@@Jtwes Found the mounts on e-bay:listed by burch. Ordered a pair. thanks! Will order the 4 wheel rolling cultivators from agri supply on tuesday.
@Crowbar470323 жыл бұрын
I see your rolling cultivators are 4 tine. AgriSupply has 5 tines as well. Have you used a 5 tine before? Thoughts on what the difference might be?
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
I have used them . I have a set of five tines and that’s all I used when growing up. If I had to get rid of all my rolling cultivators except one I would keep the 5 tine ones . Be carful not to buy to big of a set. What I mean is the tine diameter. I would think the 14 inch tines would be plenty big enough. My opinion 16 inch tines are to big for a 140.

And voila! Agri-Supply just put up a video yesterday on how to set them up on their cultivator frame. The rolling cultivator part starts at 3:53 but I swear it looks like it’s throwing dirt away from the row in that short clip. I’m rebuilding an old set now to work with an old international cultivator tool bar I have. We used them for years on the farm. Had a 2 row, 4 row and 6 row. Dad kept the 2 row set when the farm sold 30 years ago. I know for a fact they haven’t been used since the 70s. One of the spider wheels actually turns. By the way, if you need to rebuild a spider gang and are going to need the axle, Agri-Supply is discontinuing the axle. When they sell what they have now, there won’t be anymore. But I found that Lilliston is making them again. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3SkhZ6Ad9apapo

@@Jtwes get them in person if you can. They’re marked down in the store but not online. And their shipping prices are sky high. I got almost all the parts I needed to rebuild one gang and got home and needed 4 more $2 pieces - the little cheap guards that go around the bearings. Was going to order them but shipping was nearly $20.
