Like you, this colour scheme is very close to my heart - my first White Dwarf was 193, when 'Angels of Death' was first released. Bias aside, I think this is one of your best paintjobs; the green looks so rich. I found it a little puzzling that you painted the red markings after the wash, but the end result looks fine. Perhaps this technique could be applied to Ravenwing too - if you found the right contrast mix for a dark blue/grey the black oil could give a really nice gradient. Inspiring stuff.

Hello Henry, I would like to ask: how you decide the color/style when you painting the swords? I understand that this team has a more darker approach and a flashy blue power sword wouldn't be the best choice for them so the inactive metal color power sword is more preferable here. So it depend on the theme of the mini, the main color of the mini or simply by your mood? Thanks a lot 🤩 These are awsome as always. 🤩
@cultofpaintАй бұрын
Hey good question! I think usually my mood is probably the deciding factor!! But also in this case you're right, the fact the rest today the model had some quite dark areas I felt the brighter sword would be a nice counterpoint. Also if I was doing eldar or tau or something non human I'd be inclined to do other colours.
