Thank you for taking my Question, many are afraid to even speak about this issue. I was saying that as an Irish person whose culture was colonaised by the British/English who then created Neo-Druidism/Wicca appropriating Irish traditions and changing them into something totally different and spreading dis-information about Irish Druids/Paganism. Things like Celtic-shaman, Witta, ADF, Wicca and more recently Seabhean tradtion drowns out native peoples voices. I've seen someone put Cthulhu next to Danu without even knowing that H. P. Lovecraft was Hibernaphobic.

Yeah, doing research to not make those mistakes would be something I would do if I were to adopt a practice into my own spirituality.

I have never heard of the Seabhean tradition and it looks too small to drown out pagan voices.

Cricket, As someone who is Slavic ( I'm Russian/ Ukrainian/ Bohemian/ Silesian Polish ) I 'd feel slighted if someone who isn't of my ethnicity practices Slavic paganism ,then says " I'm half Russian! " when they're not !

I think it would offend me if someone claimed a specific ethnicity when they actually are not, but I think that is a case of be deceitful. Would you be offended if, for example, I were to practice Slavic paganism? I don't believe I have Slavic in my heritage.

Thank you for this. Much needed. Thank you for having the courge to share this coming from a place of privilidge. I love that you said place of privilidge and not white ir racually privilidged. It's a hard to feel so connected to a closed culture knowing I can't or am not adopted in to the tradutions when others are quick to assume. Much of the confusion I think is that there is a pressure to be of authority in specific of traditions esoecually in witchcraft. I love what you pointed out about Wiccan being eclectic. I've bever gward a Wiccan admit that. I also love what you said about not policing. I have not geard that said either. It should be frim everyone individually anyway. It's dufferent if it's abvious.

Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for videos talking about this, and your video about similarities and sharing culture, and I think my next question (for myself at least) is what makes you drawn to it? And is there any kind of power imbalance happening that I need to be aware of. I'm a white witch, and the most important thing for me to remember when understanding cultures and the possibility of incorporating them is that my whiteness is the heaviest thing about me and can cause harm without me knowing it.

I understand your concern. I am sure to consider my motivation behind what I am incorporating into my practice because I think it's an important part of my Witchcraft. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. Much love and many blessings!
