Haha so relatable. I'm from Bradford, no I'm not a drug dealer, my car is fully insured. I never met Isis, I don't hate whites and no I don't sound like the brown guy from Simpsons. Now excuse me while I have curry for breakfast.

You should have asked about the stereotype of being racist towards black people? This is something that we might need to address once and for all. Unfortunately it’s still a taboo in our community.

i think hating black people provides relief from the discrimination most asians face at hand of white people. having lived in america between a couple of communities, I could always spot the chinese, the indian , the latino who would try to bond with white guys over the shared hatred of black people. I am consistently there when it happens . I just soak it all up then report back to black people.

maybe we need to address black people racism towards asians...because i have seen many balck people attack aisans and call them terrosits with theri whtie friends
@henryfung97256 жыл бұрын
i notice black people also do this with white peple though. i know a half-whtie half black person bond over "jokes about indians, and would tell white people its not racist so don;t worry, as a result a lot of asians are waking up to the fact that mixe race and black people look down at them too to win acceptance by white people. Look at the film this is england"...it touches on this truth, the mixed race black boy hated asians with whites, but then started getting racism himslef. black people are more accepted in the UK. there is even an article in the UK saying more white peple treat and like blacks over asians, and asians get more hate crimes truth is all races are racist including blacks

It is quite funny that to most folks in the video - being Asian merely seems to mean how they speak or look . I would advise living for a bit in a few Indian cities to figure out what really being an Indian means (not sure about Pak/Bangla). A few nuggets stand out from what i myself have seen of Indian culture : (1) atleast one kid in the family always learns a performing art (say Indian classical music - singing or a performing art e.g. Bharatnatyam if you were a girl and an instrument like a tabla - were you a boy). (2) Lots and lots of books at home - everyone loves to read. (3) Fun time with the grannies and grandpas, filled with loads of love. (4) lots of food! - think we Indians take every opportunity to eat :) . (5) Craze about board games - typically ludo when you're a kid to chess when you're over 10 (nowadays even 5). (5) Math-ability / intellect ability being highly respected among school friends (somewhat different here in UK where sports or your language matters a lot more). (6).....and yes, lots of movies with friends :)

Mrityunjay Singh I think because it’s only 5 minutes on a British tv channel. Here, you’re brown therefore Asian. In our groups we all know who we are. If it were longer then you would see a great deal more similarities. I know most of my friends would spend (every) holiday ‘going home’, especially when younger. And so had strong ties to family at home. With my family and friends it was hell yes to the food, yes to the board games, yes to books (my mother was a teacher) which is also a big fat YES to education. I lived with my grandmother for9 years before she died, she also bought me up for my first three. We (my family) all lived in the same small town and spent most weekends together. And yes to hanging out with friends at the movies. If anything I see now, is that Asians are a bit more conservative in the UK as the ‘home’ they remember is one of many years ago. 😁 peace!

I am a Christian Woman and omg I love my Muslim friends. I always enjoy seeing what similarities or connections we can find within our seperate faiths. And I learn alot. However, here in America, shortly after 9/11 people use to harrass one of my Muslim friends (at the time they were the only Muslim families I had become friends with) and my friend was birn and raised in America. She grew up with her father being in the military. She converted her Religion and married her wonderful husband. Backstory done. 😉 shirtly after 9/11 kids, yes kids, told my friend to go back to her own country while we were sry the playground with our kids. We ended up having to leave because of all the harassment. Then she had other things happen they she tried to hide from me because she didn't want me to be angry. She is sick a peaceful person. Ppl also put a burning cross in her yard. Another friend of mine had terrorist and other hate speech spray painted on their shed. It's a bunch of crap. How ppl think because extremists caused 9/11 that all Muslims are like that

Justa Clapper there weren’t many muslims where I grew up, but my Christian friends and I had sooooo much in common. Led us to a place of mutual understanding and respect, truly! 😁

In England you have Stereotypes, but it better than being profiled in America just because your black.
@thefirm46065 жыл бұрын
jason4275 absolutely agree, (although being brown or muslim didn’t help me either in the US or here). Not competing, just filling in the gaps. Racism is real, worse for blacks here and over there. We get it relatively easier in both. Peace!

People of African and African Caribbean heritage born in the UK often refer to themselves primarily by their skin colour as a group, people of South Asian heritage born in the UK should do so also. Brown British people need to stop othering themselves, yes your ancestral roots are South Asian but you are British.

I have so many questions about the Muslim culture and what they think about all the stuff going on, but I’m so afraid to ask because I just don’t want to come across as rude or judgmental. I really would like to here all about the culture and have discussions

Lechiffresix six my bad I didn’t mean to come across as generalizing. I would just like to talk about beliefs and where they stem from and what it’s like in a Muslim home. Do you dislike something? To you adore parts of it and wish non Muslims would do it. Also I’d like to know if any Muslim jokes (I laugh about white and Christian jokes all the time) are funny or offensive. Stuff like that

Apu is supposed to REPRESENT and SYMBOLIZE the stereotype that middle eastern people go through. It’s satire. He’s supposed to be completely a joke, since he doesn’t exist, it’s okay to make fun of him. That’s the idea. He IS the stereotype, that is the joke. The joke is that not all middle eastern people are like that, and you’re supposed to be smart enough to realize that and not be offended and to just laugh. You don’t see me crying about White Chicks, do you? I’m glad most of them thought Apu was funny, even if they don’t really get the point.
@PieZello6 жыл бұрын
Wtf where did middle Eastern come from? Apu is Indian which is in South Asia. If you're British and didn't know this then shame on you. Middle Eastern are Arabs so like Dubai, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia
