Excellent. We must initiate the change. The question is how. This should be the subject of another TED talk. It is not impossible. Where there are consequences behavior changes -- the wrecker in Woodbrook comes to mind. We need to find mechanisms to enforce the rules and ensure that there are swift and impartially applied consequences.

Nice to see Trinidad have Tedx Talks where you can have intelligent dialogue.

I like the speech but I feel that it is incomplete. He ended with the idea that we are the ones to do but offered no suggestions as to how this can be done. I feel this is common theme with our intellectuals. They can clearly articulate what the problems are and why but do not offer simple everyday solutions for improvement of the current state

I agree with what he is saying, but prior to this mishap in Trinidad,it was not a culture like this ,yes we had our fun and leisure etc.But our culture de-evolve...Examine Trade schools that existed ,were later replaced by junior secs, now the consequences. You went from GCE to CXC,critical thinking was replaced,Arithmetic got replaced by Mathematics, when it was it was two separated courses,Remove Latin,Literature is just a story, lacked critical analysis from a historical perspectives. Food industry is westernized,no more traditonal foods became replaced by meat ,processed food etc,now we have high rates of chronic diseases etc.Things that never existed 30-40 years ago...A health care system that was never made to address these problems Why? more hospitals, more doctors service the same to treat sickness that could be solved by proper nutrition. Socialism,welfare..It was very rare in TNT to have people who could not afford food and went hungry ... Marijuana was common in the sixties and seventies, till judges passing harsh sentences,Alcohol became norm for the insurance companies loved it ,why? because it cause more violence... Army was led by foreigners cause conflict between the locals and foreigners.... Trinidad and tobago,in every village you could guys who can run track and ,play foot ball, cricket and swimming etc...no one ,,was there to place structures to take advantage of it...etc.. Funny Now we are in a gym..lol Imagine you need hot water in to bathe ...thats how far we fall..

True , and now we prefer to be on farsebook and all the various social media platforms doing things for likes but not doing things for love , we prefer to clock in and do 1 hour work but get paid for the day instead of giving 8 hours work and taking 1 hour off , we prefer to drive down the shoulders instead of waiting in traffic like every other person, we prefer to make a DEAL with a spranger and buy fruits he stole rather than pay more from legitimate vendors, we run through red lights if we feel we could get away with it, whilst our children are in our vehicles watching but want to tell them about right and wrong we go to church because we follow the tradition and we recite prayers but we don't pray , we say one thing but do the opposite, we eat and throw out the wrapping into the streets but we blame the government for flooding , we love to create an impression of being kind and caring but we have a mindset of "we eh care ""so what " "thats not my problem " and every administration that comes into power plays with the minds of gullible citizens for their selfish gains

Very good speech. I laughed at the end when he talked about a Trini pilot.

Ironically, it is the Trinidadian culture that would have allowed the audience to immediately correct the speaker on his Norwegian data from millions to billions.

I have alot more to add, trinidaians need to change their mindset , because work can just be one face to put on, we will just have a population of schizophrenics, is not at work only, but it need to be taught home, the psyche of the trini need to evolve, the fundamental movement of thought in a trini mind needs to be given attention to, a certain awareness have to happen, I know, there are too much I know for me to type it.
