Culture Clashes between the US & Portugal

Hi Ana, Great video! In Nov of 2023 I moved from Orange County California to Buarcos which is close to Figueira da Foz. I can understand why your mind has been blown multiple times with regard to the cost of living in California. I think part of the reason you are so shocked has to do with the difference in average monthly salary in California (about $5000) vs Portugal (about 1300 euros). I agree, some costs are very high but as a percentage of income, a lot of costs are comparable to Portugal. I have had my mind blown multiple times here myself. The cost of automobiles, gasoline, a 23% sales tax rate, the cost of name brands at the market, and lets not forget the IMT tax when purchasing a house...absolutely nuts!!!

You are 100% correct about all this! One helpful way to get higher quality food often more affordably is going to farmers markets and buying directly from the growers/ producers. Also, Asian or Mexican markets often have amazing produce and other groceries.

Mehrica in general a very bad place. The only good thing in US in applicable states is that you can have all sorts of guns. Other than that there is not a whole lot in United Snakes. Maybe PT can learn who to speed up bureaucracy.
