I have seen this a few times and George is totally off his face. I do LOVE this era as I loved George's look during "From Luxury To Heartache" but it is a bit hard to watch how sad George really is underneath all this xo Thank goodness he survived + His style here is ON POINT , ache!

George was battlingwith heroine addiction during thus time.He became painfully thin and at times his speech was slurred or non revignizabke.Thank goodness he was given the help he so desperately needed.

culture club is a living, breathing soap opera. Thank god there have been so MANY more wonderful moments since this performance. most of all, thank god we still have the talented BOY GEORGE around today. Long may he continue to inspire! )
I remember this was just a day before Boy was arrested for the drug. This is quite precious because the show shows clearly that he is under the influence of the drug . His replies didn't go with the reporter's question !! He couldn't control himself !!

That’s embarrassing, considering it is really hard for Western performers to break Japan.

At the beginning the male presenter comments about George in Japanese, "He seems to have lost some weight", to which the interpreter replies, "Indeed, he has slimmed down a lot and looks even more attractive. He looks so great in the flesh". She also tells how George had just brought the white strings from somewhere.

Move Away and God Thank You Woman were such big hits for the band ... they were still hot properties at that point, sadly would soon be overshadowed by the drug arrest ....
@RocStarr91310 ай бұрын
“God Thank You Woman,” not so much. That likely played a role into why a different follow-up single for “Move Away” was chosen in America.

Warum haben John,Graig und Roy damals nicht STOP gesagt?

Weil George der große Anziehungspunkt der Band war und sie es nicht wagen würden, gegen denjenigen anzutreten, der am meisten für ihren Erfolg verantwortlich ist.

This performance, first of all it is a movable set which I'm sure was annoying. It Georges first book he discusses it. He at one point wouldn't come of his dressing room. Mikey and Jon went having none of it which you can tell. So glad George has never looked better and great performer.
