@@SarahphefoYoh not from where I come from shame things are still done that way especially in Congo / Cape Town there’s a party during the pre dot yes and sometimes they call it engagement party and it’s always being a big thing some families make it a party although it should only be dinner between the two families but that formality and ceremony you mentioned are only done during dot and not pre dot but it’s is what it is … but I guess 🇨🇩ppl are doing things anyhow these days

Hi Sara. Very good topic. Firstly we don't say you are married to Tswana, we say you are married to Motswana. You are brought into Batswana family. Most of the procedure is the same.
