Peter Sonski and Lauren Onak are a grandfather and mother of young children discouraged by both political parties who want to have an influence on civic life in the United States by running presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the American Solidarity Party. With a platform based on Catholic Social Teaching, focused on the dignity of the human person, they present a third-party option. Sonski and Onak report increased interest in the ASP in the wake of the Republican party’s new platform on abortion. I recently changed my political party affiliation from Republican to American Solidarity Party after the RNC's dropping of both pro-life and pro-family language. I've been interested in the ASP for about 4 years and this year I'll be proud to cast my vote according to my values. I am politically homeless as a Christian. I left the GOP in 2019 because of the way the GOP went. GOP became more like Democrats.

I don’t understand the electoral college. From what I understand I don’t vote for the actual candidate I’m voting for electors who are pledged to Trump or Kamala Harris. Then the electors gather in Washington after the election and vote for the winner. Since I don’t vote for the candidate directly I might as well vote for a third party candidate like the American Solidarity Party. What does the ASP think about the incident at the Paris Olympics where a group of people who identify as transgender created a person who represented Jesus Christ and drag queens who represented the apostles. How could they belittle and joke about that. Jesus Christ is the true son of God. It was an immoral act that the Olympic Committee should have never allowed.
