I was very disappointed with the transcript of this informative conversation as automatic captions cannot make out the correct words so none of it makes any sense!!!!

i love this artist, especially her being unpretentious. She points out that the whites are in fact white outs because the first sketches did not work out so she just covers them with white and do it again. Other artists would not be as candid and honest about such things and would probably come up with some intellectual-sounding blah blah blahs.

I find her approach and discussion of her work and its link with other famous artists very pretentious. I don't like her work but that's the plan I think for conceptual/contemporary art to create discussion rather than quality art

i always find rose wylie's clothing and hair to be very funny and interesting... like, what the hell is that bandage she has strapped to her arm?! she's always got quirky things going on like that and it feels exactly like her paintings.

I think that white strap is her bra strap dangling down but she didn’t noticed or not care 😄😆🤣 But l like that attitude. Also a piece of tissue fell down from her shoulder of T-shirt, that’s might be under that strap. Typical her generation’s habits 😆🤣 But l love that 😊

@@hetehetena rose wylie reminds me of my mother - same age. she would always have a tissue stuck up her sleeve. your observation is correct and succinct. remember also that wylie grew up during and immediately after the war: no doubt she recalls rationing. Her cottage also says a lot about her; practical, utilitarian, and cluttered in the most beautiful life-on-life way

I find her reasons for painting what she does really disappointing .

I love her reasoning. She leads with intuition, knowledge and self belief. Drawing inspiration from what many would consider too mundane or obvious and poetically painting them into these huge objects. I really like her.
