I’m a 52 year old straight male and I LOVE Boy George and Culture Club!! Hell yeah I still jam the hell out of this and don’t care who hears it!! It is some of the best music from the 80’s which I was lucky enough to grow up in that decade!! A lot of people judge people by their race, creed , skin color , genre etc.. This is bull s:-! You should treat people with respect like I was taught from my parents and let them be who they are supposed to be. Boy George is openly gay and uses it to his advantage through his music and talents!! I have read over 400 plus comments on hear and sadly there are still some idiots who judge and comment rudely!! Not only did Boy G bring us Culture Club and great music but he also is a world ranked DJ to boot!! In the late 80’s he was ranked in the top 100 DJ’s in the world and now he is at 1531 ranked in the world, still badass though. Google it for yourself if you don’t believe me!! Keep kicking Ass Boy George!!

1983 was a fun music year. 8th grade back.then. looking at yearbooks I have to laugh at how silly some of us looked. Especially the hairstyles. I wore thick eyeglasses with a sun protective coating and short feathered hair. Those were the days.

The first time I heard Culture Club on the radio before seeing their videos, I was convinced Boy George was black - a great soul voice he had for a white guy. Good memories of that time in 1983 when I was a teen at school, and all that brilliant music was all over the radio and the charts. What passes for popular music in 2025 doesn't compare to the 80s and 90s classics.

My brother and mum idolised Boy George, I can see why I was brought up on culture club, his voice alone is amazing but Boy George is one of the most amazing people to come out of the 80s he gave people a chance to be who they were when judging was kept in circles not social media ICON doesn't cover it

They were so ahead of their time. I wasn't in to them back in the day. Now I realize how good they were. We had legendary talent back then. These days there's no true legendary talent. There's a few talented artist, but you cant compare them to the artist of the 70's, 80's and 90's.

The Bridge has great chord set ups and the hand claps added to the latter part of the choruses was brilliant production work elevating the song into a classic.

Thanks for the reply! I believe that was the writer's goal; to appeal to the demographic that buys music for the rest of their lives, 12 year old girls who are now in their 40's. That's most certainly why I keep hearing the song on current radio. My comment was slanted toward production details. I apologize. I was speaking in terms of "mail box jobs" as the holder of the song's licensing, etc. still gets a really nice check every 3 months. That's a keeper, a classic in format sense. peace...
