Lyrics:
Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see
She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
She will play around and leave you
Leave you and deceive you
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it

They did. Collins produced Bailey's solo album Chinese Wall (which includes "Easy Lover"). Collins played also drums on that album and the backing band consisted of Earth Wind and Fire (Phenix Horns) and Genesis/Collins live and studio (Daryl Stuermer) musicians.

@@theblackpearlofbraavos Wow really. I come from the other side: I've been a Phil Collins fan since I was 11 years old, so this wonderful piece of music reached my radar very soon after. Sometime later, I learned to know Philip Bailey's album Chinese Wall and I thought it was a wonderful American/British collaboration. When I learned to love 1970s and 1980s soul/funk/R&B in my late teen years, EW&F came automatically across my ears and since the recent years I've thought All 'N All is my favorite EW&F album.

I read that Phil Collins was going to produce this song sung by Philip Bailey but that when it came time to record the song Phil Collins had one idea on how the song should sound while Philip Bailey on the other hand had another completely different idea on how the song should sound. So Phil Collins said screw it and let's just do this song together. And that's how we ended up with this great duet.

Concert prices were like going to a movie matinee. We could literally go to dozens of concerts per year, forget about everything for a night. Now concerts are like a down payment on a new car. He's one of the greatest drummers of the last 50+ years. At one point, he was the lead singer and drummer of Genesis, he was also the drummer of the jazz fusion prog band Brand X, and he was working on his first solo album in which he played ALL the instruments, all at the same time. He invented the gated reverb drum sound on Peter Gabriel's Melt album on the song Intruder, which he then also used on his own mega hit In the Air Tonight, Genesis' Mama etc. In the 80s He PRODUCED and played drums in between Genesis and his solo albums and tours for Eric Clapton, the Abba singer Frida, Robert Plant, this one for Philip Bailey of course, and many other artists. He played in the Secret Policeman's Ball concerts, the Princes Trusts Concerts, at Live Aid in 85 where he played in England and the US on the same day, playing drums and singing with multiple artists (Sting, Led Zep, his solo sets). He played in multiple Knebworths. He was the most dominant, busy and successful artist of the 80s for sure, he was all over the place, movie soundtracks (Against All Odds), later the Disney films. Truly a nonstop workaholic.

Allah did not forbid music. This is a complete fabrication. There is no such ruling in the Holy Qur'an. Music is a wonderful gift from Allah to people. Those who want to discredit Islam fabricate such lies in the name of the Prophet Muhammad.

This to me just embodies a lot of what you saw in the 80's; blacks and whites coming together and making cool tunes. Such a diverse decade. When I was living in the 80s, I could not believe how good the music was. I did not think it could get any better….and I was right. Music was best in the 80s. In the 80s, we just called it music….not 80s music!!!

11:40 I absolutely love how they have the track playing but also you can hear the live parts from the video. At one point shortly after this, I swear you can actually hear live instruments layered over the audio track while they're on stage. This video is almost 4th wall breaking, it's amazing!!

Imagine when they recorded the song, they only had analog equipment. Recording songs required skilled technicians and great voices. The harmonic is for real, no autotune!

Part of why I love The band KORN so much is because Jonathan Davis the lead singer 👨‍🎤 Likes to use analog equipment for its pure sound and old school sounds. He sometimes layers analog to get what we end up hearing when listening to their albums. Part of the reason IMHO why they sound almost the exact same live as they do in my headphones! No joke! it's pretty incredible to be able to do it that well 😌 Having seen them stleast 5 times And each time that was proven over and over 🤷🏻‍♂️

They actually had the ability too loop the vocal harmonies via Sampling back then but you still couldn't cheat vocally. You had too sing your butt off or go home.

@@gsmusic2009 yeah backing tracks were a thing but no auto-pilot, it's like how in Olympic sprinting they started with just barefoot on dirt with rope dividers, then they made clear lanes and synthetic tracks and they introduced starting blocks and now they have staggered lanes and pacing lights and amazing shoes and tracks. These guys are singing with at most the help of backing track and basic sampling and actually they have access to a lot of effects, similar to how a sprinter in the 80's had synthetic tracks and clear lanes and lots of shoes, but to them they are the same thinking like how did those guys before do it barefoot running on dirt, lol the guys these guys look up to guys... they at most had an amplifier or multi track recorder and made amazing beautiful harmonies, The Beatles had no effects processors, no synth, no wah wah, I think they were around before synthesizers and pitchshifters and phaseshifters, they were around when Moog started, when they started at most they had a two transistor tonebender that was there fuzz the only effect they had when they started, high end top tier stuff of the time... they had nowhere close to the amount of stuff yet put out literally the most known songs ever and seem to understand music way more than most people it's like diminishing returns or something

@@greatbingus I know what you mean I was in a singing group the eighties and I recorded with Tony Sparks in Berkeley Ca. And he had Performer DAW one of the first had like 8 sudio tracks and 256 midi tracks and we would record the background vocals and he would stack them via sampling too get that style of R&B vocals that Kashif taught everybody too do with the Backs which is now today a afterthought cause its called comping vocals lol. Technology has come a long way
