When I was a kid, I was gifted any game at Toys R Us. I grabbed Einhander because “Squaresoft”. It was NOT what I thought it would be. I played for a little bit and dropped it and randomly, months later, picked it up again and COULD NOT put it down. I think I just needed some time and a perspective shift. I really like that game now

Thank you for mentioning thrasher! I still like it more than THPS, but it's obvious why it didn't reach the same popularity. It is much harder to learn and be successful at, and there only being tricks/high score as a goal was probably too simple for most. But a good sequel adding more depth to the game overall would have been incredible.

Love Apocalypse forever. Bought it because Poe is in it. Loved it for being twin-stick, having some hidden powers up that were fun to find, the fact that ultimately the stock weapon is the best if you slow down and shoot everything from far away, non-stop gore and explosions. Cheesey dialogue. Total 90s soundtrack. Oddly reminded me of Nightmare Creatures but with guns.

Some very underrated games on this list. I would like to suggest Mission Impossible on PS1 it could be nostalgia talking because i haven’t played it in a while. But i had a lot of fun and frustration when i was younger playing it. And also Return Fire for PS1 is pretty much just forgotten not underrated because I never hear anyone even mention it. When Jersey devil first came out on the PlayStation, me and all of my buddies that rented it that weekend were amazed by it!!! We thought it was so cool to have a game kind of crash bandicoot but with a Gothic/Halloween style aesthetic to it!? Playing today it really shows its age, but back then we loved it and it was a great game and that I was disappointed to not be added to PSN when Sony released the PSP and the PS3 and then the Vida and all that later on .... because people would have gladly bought that game to have on their new console? Some of us even considered Jersey devil is like sort of a mascot to PlayStation?? Even though most of us gave that honor to crash..
