Finally we are able to cross the creek, this guy we hired is a wild man on the skidsteer. We couldn't be happier how it turned out! Want to support our channel? - / bluespringfarm

I always thought they had to be dug more into the ground, guess not. I feel much better now about how I just threw mine into the ditch and dumped dirt over it. well rock actually.

The crew did a bang-up job prepping for the corrugated pipes. Full-watch.

The guy in the skidsteer was definitely getting it done! Glad we hired them. 👍🏻

That's a good start but there is still a lot to add to prevent erosion from rendering it unusable.

Put bags of concrete like retaining blocks but leave in the bags when you are done wet it down and let set

They have a life of maybe 3 or 4 years, depending on weather/climate.

That operator placed a lot of dry uncompacted dirt around the culverts. Expect some erosion when the rains come.

I have to do something similar. Problem is I will need concrete trucks and more to get across Any recommendations about the proper way to approach?

Can you tell me how much hiring a crew to do this could run? We are looking at buying land with a creek but it has a flood zone so we aren’t sure if we should go through with it. We are trying to see if we have enough saved to get culverts.. we are trying to pay all cash so we don’t want to run into unforeseen expenses

Is the passage washed out yet or you repaired it?

It’s still standing and has been great!

Pipe looks good and all but they backfilled it with topsoil.. Not good

Don't try to concrete the bank around the ends of the pipe. Get some good 6" rip rap and put it on there. That will hold and also look much better.

We were concerned at first as well but we are very happy we saved some money instead of buying and bringing select fill in, the dirt compacted well over the past months. As far as the sides we added a concrete bag wall. It’s been holding up well. See our video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYKXg6yQp7l2f68

Looks like you're out west somewhere? Nothing but topsoil lol, I used to work out there a lot. Keep an eye on the culvert pipes during large amounts of rainfall. Watch the upper end and make sure the water doesn't start swirling if you know what I mean. That's will wash a road out in no time. Concrete bag wall looks good though!

Thank you! We like feedback good or bad, we are hoping this will last for awhile. I’ll keep an eye on it during big storms👍🏻
