Some people like the sound from the rhythm of the rain. But not many talk about the sound of a steam locomotive rhythm on the rails. This was perfect in that aspect.

Without a doubt, the BEST Steam locomotive video I have seen on KZbin. The camera work and audio quality is fabulous. I will watch this over and over again. I wish I could take a ride on that Grand Old Train. I would love to be in the last car looking out the back, watching the tracks recede in the distance. Sensational! Marvelous! Love it! THANKS!!!

As Bob Hope would've said, "thanks for the memories!" We rode both the Durango & Silverton and the Cumbres & Toltec way back in the early 70s, and we still think of your fantastic railroad; one of your brakeman's lanterns still hangs in my train room, a constant reminder of earlier, happier times. A few years later, I got to sit in the cab of the BC Rail's Royal Hudson in N. Vancouver, BC and chat with their engineer. There's nothing quite like a functional steam engine, for sure. Well, guess it's time to play with my O gauge RR layout for a bit. Thanks for the super video.

There is something about a steam engine under load, that sounds fantastic.
@nekomasteryoutube32325 жыл бұрын
If anything, any engine or motor under a healthy amount of load sounds interesting. The buses I ride around on in Oshawa, ON end up sounding like locomotives when packed with people going uphill. Its too bad I'll probably never get to see any Steam engines in person as I live too far from any lines that run them (and I doubt CP or CN Rail will run any steam excursions in the near future)

Am i the only one who think both of the locomotives have different personalities? Both dont sound the same whistle or steam sounds but my god both sound AMAZING. my favorite steam locomotives in the world. Anyone got any info on them? Ive loved these type trains since i saw them on the movie America's historic steam locomotives when i was a kid.

What are the little cabins on top of the tenders?
@travelingtom9235 жыл бұрын
That is called 'the doghouse". That is where the brakeman would sit. He could not ride in the cab as he would get in the way of the fireman when he was shoveling coal.
