How cool is that. Neil Young attended Kelvin High School in Winnipeg as a kid and manages to weave those words into Bob Dylan's, "Like Tom Thumbs Blues". Three Winnipeg boys, Burton Cummings, Randy Bachman and Neil Young... but let's not forget the late great Kurt Winter(always happy to blend in with the background), but Burton gives him a shout out, nonetheless.

Kurt Winter - hugely under appreciated contributor to The Guess Who sound and catalog. In my opinion The Guess Who did not fully realize its greatest 'prairie rock' sound till he joined. Nothing against Bachman but the grit was just not there with him. Kurt was the man.

With Kurt's arrival in the band The Guess Who achieved their best line up and sound. I like Randy ... but I love Kurt.

Wow, what a great moment in the history of Canadian rock and roll !! Neil Young Randy Bachman Burton Cummings and Kurt Winter (among others) it didn't last long (one performance) but for one brief moment in time it did happen!...A footnote - I always thought Kurt Winter would've made a great member of Neil and his band Crazy Horse.

He would have always been overshadowed by Neil. Kurt was not a self promoter but he deserved the spotlight. In my opinion his time in The Guess Who was the band's best work.

History on the fly! Oh to have been a fly on the wall of that undoubtedly sold-out event. First and only time Randy Bachman and Kurt Winter ever shared a stage? Think it was only a couple of years after this event that Kurt passed away, still residing in the “Chevrier Home” he bought with some of his initial Guess Who earnings. RIP Kurt.

It weirds me out that Neil Young's fretting hand seems much larger than his picking/strumming hand. It is like he can bury any part of the neck in his fist, yet his fingers are so nimble on the frets. An underrated guitarist if there ever was one.
