Emergency vehicles should be exempt from emissions regulations or at least a lower standard
@gailgrove3 жыл бұрын
They are somewhat, emergency vehicles don't derate if they have an emissions related fault. They can continue at full power and speed. Only engine faults stop the truck, just like older engines.

@@gailgrove I understand but the egr systems rob the engine of power, also the egr system can get soot into the chambers and reduce the reliability of the engine

@@hell_pike9150 exactly. Environmental ruin agency is ShAttY. We need to cancel them.

@@hell_pike9150Agreed. There should at least be some sort of bypass valve or "dump valve" to completely bypass the SCR/Soot filter should it become clogged.
@hell_pike9150 Жыл бұрын
@@Shade_Tree_Mechanic Yes. Even for all the regular trucks, imagine if we went into a world war 3 scenario. We need the trucks running as powerful as possible and as durable as possible in that situation.

They keep making changes to these engines that can barely meet emissions. Then the government wonders why companies are struggling with these unrealistic emissions requirements. You choke down the engines so much they burn more fuel. Makes all sorts of sense.

Fire and emergency services should be completely emmisions exempt !
@charlesrodriguez79842 жыл бұрын
Why?
@petarmiletic9972 жыл бұрын
@@charlesrodriguez7984 Because you dont want the fire truck to stop working or lose power because of a clogged DPF or a clogged EGR valve while your house is on fire. Emmisions equipment significantly reduce reliability of any engine.
