This houseboat was my brother's dream..he lived on this boat. He loved living on the lake..my brother died..we would visit, and spend time on this boat, so many memories..sad to see it in such poor condition. Family tried to take possession, was unable too. Thank you for giving giving it a new purpose..❤😢

About 20 years ago this was legal. Looks like California side. Indian res. Used to be some large floating docks out there. All you had to do was register it as a boat and have the tags on it. Army Corps of Engineers said no more. That boat is totally fixable. Problem is finding a place to dock it.

Questions: At one point Merlin moved the throttle from neutral (straight up) forward a full 6" and the Cummins sounded like it was still at idle ? and, Is the Cummins Boat going to get a few cleats so she can be tied off without without tying off inside somewhere? You're doing a good thing getting that junk off your lake.

It's sad to think that all the government officials patrolling the lake would not pull the boat and have it towed. But would let it stay on the water and let it sink, perhaps cause a environmental impact on the water nice job DNR. Thanks Merlin for helping to keep the water clean and safe.

I see by the sign on the houseboat, fellow is now divorced and probably in some kind of hurt if not in the bottom of the lake after a bad night of hell thought dreams. I hope he made it out okay as death is not a pretty place. It was someones dream at one time meaning to only one to get something for this, is the guy/people who sell boats. I have seen few boats end up being someone who is so happy after a few years of owning one.

That would have been an awesome pad when it was first built and probably wouldn't take a hole lot to get it back into working order with some elbow grease and a frw bucks.. I'm thinking that no one would just abandon that rig.. its usually the owner gets sick or perhaps worse and can't make it back to claim there vessel.. Sad, but I'd say nice score!!!

You need some cleats for the Cummins boat! First you tied off to the throttle, then the bimini top frame, tsk, tsk! I bet that starboard pontoon has a working bilge pump and it will pump all of the ingested water overboard; and I'm fairly certain Merlon has a steering wheel that'll work, somewhere in his parts pile.
