CUMMINS MANUAL G56 TO AUTOMATIC CONVERSION!

Does anybody know where to get a g56 transmission swap kit? I have a 2005 dodge ram 2500 diesel with 48 re and want to swap it to a g56.

I was in the same boat. Looked around for a while. Best I can tell is- 1. Ecm flash to manual mode. 2. Flywheel and clutch assembly. 3. G56 I'm pretty sure bolts up to the same adapter plate the 48re uses although I'm not 100% positive, I looked around for a while and either got conflicting info or just the ebay listings for the stock part. 4. Shift tower slot inside should be a raised square plate you can cut/punch out. 5. Not sure what t case you have but there were two different ones. Either way couldn't find the info on if it works with the g56 or not same as the plate. 6. You need a clutch and break pedal out of a manual. (The stock housing has the slot for the clutch. 7. Clutch slave cylinder. Also considered and nv5600/nv4500 swap. But not too much info on going from auto to either. Keep getting allison swap videos lol.

For your neutral safety switch wire after you wired it to the clutch switch connector, did you leave the other wire empty or did you ground it?

Wired it through the 48re range sensor

@westerndiesels so range sensor to the factory clutch switch connector using one wire? The clutch switch uses two wires. Just curious what you did with the other wire on the clutch switch.

@@lilredsled IIRC one of the clutch wires was just to ground. So I took the one from PCM, put it to the range sensor, then the range sensor was grounded. So In p & n it showed nuetral
