For your starter/flex plate issue. There should be a 1/8 gap between the starter pinion shaft and the teeth on the flex plate.

Next time you have starter issue try turning the engine by hand slightly(clockwise at crank pulley). Then try starter again. If starter meshes well with flex plate then you're looking at damaged teeth on the flex plate. Hope this helps.

A helpful tip for Caitlyn. (Sp?) When using the sheet metal shears stop short of a complete snip, That way you don't get that peak in the sheet metal edge.

Thanks Larry, off camera, she asked me how I got such a clean cut on a piece I trimmed while fitting it, and I honestly didn't know what to tell her. It's got a straight piped 4 inch pipe from the turbo back and the turbo is an HX35 from a 2nd gen. Thanks for watching.
