Here's a tip on the heat shrink connection: cover your soldered connection with the dialectic paste before sliding the heat shrink tubing on, that way, when you shrink the tube, you protect the connection from corrosion and it also seals water and moisture out. Lee PS: Love your channel. Found you about a week ago and love the 95 C3500 build. I'm not quite caught up to were you are now, but I'm working on it! Thanks for what you do.

Hey Waldo just a tip for you. When you get that engine running again I would suggest you run a few cans of Liqui Moly Diesel Purge through it. It will make a hugh improvement in how it runs. They also make an excellent oil specifically for high mileage Diesel engines. It's called Liqui Moly MoS2 anti friction 10W40. And no I do not work for Liqui Moly...lol These are EXCELLENT products that are well proven.

nice upgrade waldo. that fass fuel system is suppose to eliminate aeration in the fuel as well. most people never know that their lift pump has failed until they go to change their filter. the vp pump will pull enough fuel to keep running but not enough to keep it as cool as when fuel is supplied by the pump.

i see you turned the bucket the right way to pour it. for your zip ties clamp a vice grip, nose first into the lock and twist. the tail will come off flush with the lock and you won't have to worry about beating your hands or arms up if you happen to drag across the zip tie. I bought a project last weekend on my channel and its not an easy fix

Not a big fan of soldering those wires. Solder fatigues very easy and breaks causing shorts. A heat shrink butt has better strength as it is less likely to deform.

Merry Christmas, Waldo. I make electrical connections the same as you (solder/heatshrink). It’s the best way to guard against future failure. I used to use a lighter for the heatshrink, but have changed to a heat gun now, which seems a bit safer and more controllable. Do we viewers have to buy you a funnel for Christmas? Haha

You shouldn't drill on top of the frame because its the structural strength of the rail. It will break from the point from the axle suspension. I have seen many people do that and end up doing frame repair down the road. When you see holes to top of frame its cold punched holes not drilled.

Hello Waldo, I have just started watching this series and it's a great one, I am really enjoying! I have a 1998 GMC k2500 with 6.5l my self. However I'm currently living in Europe and my truck is back in Canada, this kinda stuff keeps me going. I did notice that you used the stock fuel pickup tube. In my experience and from previous research this stock tube a starve even the 6.5l. Often people put an in tank sump or larger pickup tube as well as removing the in tank filler sock as you nolonger need it with the fass system. If you do find your self working on the fuel tank in the future it might be something to consider. If you really want the best option, Leroy diesel sells an upgrade sending unit with better fule level sensor aswell. Who knows, it might be something you have already done in a future episode but I figured I would share anyways. Take care and thanks for the great content!
