Asics is killing it with their designs these days. Their shoes finally look modern, and cool. I already bought the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 and Trabuco Max 2 (love them both). They not only have great foams and are comfortable as hell.....they both look fantastic as well. I might have to pick up a pair of Cumulus 25s for use as gym shoes. The new design of the Cumulus is ace too.

I bought some for the gym and occasional treadmill runs, and they’re so comfortable for those purposes. I’m going to get a pair for work also. Not my first choice for a daily trainer, because I prefer max cushion, but these shoes are beautiful for casual wear.

I did 500+miles in the Novablast 2 but felt like they were too smooshy and heavy and probably had a little too much foam for my tastes. Been waiting for this review. My Novablast 3s have 165 miles in them and as the ride starts to stiffen up, I’ve been thinking of getting either the Nimbus 25 or the Cumulus 25 for easier days. I have both the Novablast 3 and Nimbus 25. Definitely love them both. Interesting you mentioned that the NB3 are starting to stiffen up because I was just thinking the same thing. They felt quite springy on my initial runs in them but seem to have flatten a bit now I have about 100 miles on them. A little disappointing.

@@meangirlbecca Yeah it’s unfortunate. It’s still decently cushioned and responsive, but nowhere near as bouncy/springy during the first 75 miles. Might get the Rebel V3 as the next daily trainer instead. How are the Nimbus 25s compared to the Novablast 3s?

@@raybadudu787 Yeah I hear ya. I remember feeling like I was flying on my first run in NB3, definitely a pleasant surprise. I'm pretty much aligned with Kofuzi's assessment of the Nimbus 25 - they are comfy and great for easy runs where you want to just cruise and float, which is what I use them for. Not springy or bouncy like NB3 so definitely not a workout shoe. If you gravitate toward the lightweight, fast, speedy type of shoes, Nimbus is not it. I do recommend though. I tend to grab the Nimbus when I want to go for an easy long run and just zone out lol. I have the 24 too and have to say that the 25 is a huge upgrade, much more stable.

My Cumulus 24 is collecting dust after just over 100km. It bottoms out in the mid/forefoot and it's hard on my legs and I'm only 150lbs. Only a couple reviews mentioned this problem, unfortunately I didn't see those reviews until after I purchased them. It also lacks bounciness. Granted these were my first running shoes so now I have a better idea of what I'm looking for. The Cumulus 25 has a lot more stack height, I don't see how the ride could possibly be very similar, it's likely not bottoming out anymore at least. For an easy day shoe I'm considering the Nimbus 25 in the future when I retire my NB More V3. Metaspeed Sky + is one of the best looking running shoes out there imo, wish they made a daily trainer that looked like that.

I bought the cumulus because it has a wide version. 3 weeks later, asics releases a wide version of the novablast 3 😂 i have the nimbus 25 for recovery days. The nimbus is very squishy. The cumulus is firmer. The novablast was just right. Your reviews have been spot on. 🎉

Don’t get me wrong, I like the nova 3, but I’m one of those people that find it too squishy. The Nimbus is perfect, just a little bulky. I had the cumulus 24, but found it a bit boring and too flexible for my arthritis. With the higher stack, might give this one a try.

Yesterday I wrote you a comment about whether to take the Nimbus 25 or the Novablast 3. In the end, I decided on the Nimbus because the Novablast model I was using seemed unstable. After watching the video about the Cumulus 25, I hesitated whether to buy the Cumulus, but I'll probably get the Nimbus. I like the shoe to be squishy, and I think the Nimbus will be a better choice for my daily wear and sports (I don't use it for running).

I got Cumulus 24 last year and it was kinda boring and did not feel really good at any pace. For workouts it felt really slow and heavy, for easier runs it just felt like it could have more cushion. After that experience I decided to not go with Cumulus this year but went with Rebel V3 and just got it for about 90$ and I feel like this was such a good decision.

The Rebel V3 is an awesome all around shoe, I love mine. For long runs, like 8+ miles, I'm really liking the Zoom Fly 5. It's thicker but also more firm, so it's an odd feeling of support and response, and the rocker just locks me into those 7-8 out of 10 efforted long runs when I want to do more than just an "easy run" at a leisurely pace. It really locks me into that HM type pace and I just cruise with it.

I'm a relatively heavy runner (6'3" and 185 pounds) and the drop, cushion and overall softness of this shoe are optimal for me. They've been a game changer for long runs. They perform worse in shorter distances with higher speed and quick leg turnover. Would you recommend the Asics Cumulus or the Endorphin speed for a marathon for someone targeting a 7'40"/mile pace?

Nice review. The way you described the shoe sounds like the Puma Velocity Nitro 2, which I think is a cheaper alternative. Like you, I'm not a fan of that muted/dead feeling of many daily trainers, though. Give me the more fun option any day.

Yo! what’s goin’ on everybody? Are you Mike or anybody else out there having issues with Asics’ strategic placement of outsole rubber underneath the forefoot across different shoe models? The Novablast 2 & 3 have a separate centered piece of rubber underneath the forefoot where the midsole foam curves outwards, whilst the Nimbus 25 and Cumulus 25 have exposed midsole foam in that same area with no curvature. For me personally as a forefoot striker the result is either: (1) a sensation of something poking the balls of my feet, my suspicion being the centered outsole rubber strip in the Novablast, or (2) a burning sensation at the very same area, my suspicion being the center of the midsole foam collapsing more than the medial or lateral sides that are covered with rubber in the Nimbus 25. I run in multiple shoe brands and types through the week and don’t experience the same aches, like the Nike Invincible, NB SC Trainer/More, Adidas Adios Pro/Prime X, Nike Vaporfly/Alphafly, Asics Glideride, Saucony Endorphin/Ride, Hoka Carbon X2/Rocket X, Brooks Hyperion Elite 2/Tempo.

Hi Kofuzi . Since a lot of people have to wear custom insoles these days, i would like to request if you can mention in your reviews if the insole of the shoes are removable. I've noticed that for more race oriented shoes it's non-removeable more often than not, and I've had to return too many shoes for this reason as manufacturers also never seem to mention it on their websites.

I also don't get why the top tier race shoes all seem to glue the insoles down. You can't put an insole on top of it and if you rip it out you risk voiding the warranty if it doesn't suit.

The glideride was really quite a special shoe. A bit quirky and unexpected, it had a lot of personality. For now, I would recommend that if you like the glideride, stock up while you can. I don’t know what’s happening next

100% a baby Nimbus. I don’t like new upper and proportions of the 25 series. 24 were much better shoes for me. Also the FFblast+ (for both cumulus and nimbus) has nothing to do with the Novablast’s 😢

For some reason this is shoe way overpriced in my region compared to other trainers such as Peg 40(2x price tag). I have been looking for a consistent daily trainer for a while now I guess I will be better of waiting for upcoming daily trainers like vomero 17 and Adios 8.
