Last year, the Panthers learned that great goaltending alone can’t win the Stanley Cup. This year, the Oilers have learned that a couple of great players alone can’t win the Stanley Cup without great goaltending. Hats off to the Panthers for their evolution as a team. They built upon last year, and are deserving of the accolades.

Sammy said the Panthers would win the first two, lose game three, and win the next two. I thought he was remiss to believe the Oilers wouldn’t win at least two or three games. But, Sammy may be right. I hadn’t calculated Skinner being below .900% two games in a row. If he continues to be under .900 then the Oilers may not win a game. Hats off to Sammy for calling it.

People like to pretend preparing for a hockey game is a 12 hour affair. Maybe at the pro level, there are some pregame rituals and stuff you wanna go through, but you’re joking if you wanna say these men who play a child’s game for millions, can’t skip their Gatorade only drank in the left hand, and their 14 minute and 22 second bike ride after your steam session.
