I know a lot of people have been saying it’s about him killing Cupid but to me it’s always been about *!!TW!!* suicide, especially since the lyrics before the gunshot ( 3:30 ) are ‘I wanna be painless, love soldier.’ I feel like he’s pleading with Cupid, hoping he’ll make things better, but he doesn’t, which is why he calls him cruel, because he caused/provoked these feelings. I feel like the reason he caused it was because cupid killed his relationship (not literally, in a way as to say he ended their love,) and it left him heartbroken and depressed.
