Ok I’ll give it a shot: This is about someone with anxiety in a relationship, (maybe his first, maybe not), that doesn’t know what or how to love another person (“Its far too vapid and aimless”). But he wants to feel good about being with someone and doesn’t want it to end, he wants the other person to make him feel good about himself by knowing he is loved (“I wanna be painless, love soldier”).So he becomes obsessed with it and tries everything to make it work, “loving” and not giving any space to the partner (hence the monster crawling towards the other person). Obviously it doesn’t work, so the partner wants to get away from that monster, and it eventually ends in a breakup (and even after the breakup, the obsessive monster still wants to feel loved in any way possible: “I want closure”) :( I hate being like that, but I am.

I think your explanation of the lyrics' meaning is pretty accurate, but you left off an important piece: the gunshot In my opinion this can be interpreted in 3 ways 1 - He gets conscious of his behavior, and tries to redeem himself by 'killing his inner monster' and makes up with his partner. 2 - After seeing how he's getting to nowhere and making everything worse, he ends up in a depressive state because he wasn't loved back, and at the end, he commits suicide. 3 - he's obsession towards his partner ends up as hatred, then again because he wasn't loved back. I think this song has a lot of meaning. My theory is that this song is about a man’s inability to accept the end of a relationship. “Circumcise my love for you, it’s far too vapid and aimless” The miniature man, who might represent a part of jack’s conscious begs jack to face rejection head on, crawling forward to hear for himself, her breaking his heart once and for all. “I want to be painless, love soldier, I want closure” While climbing the man strikes a nerve. (Shown by the hand grabbing the ground meat) and the short term fear and pain caused by even the prospect of losing the one he loves causes jack to shut down, or more literally shoot down the part of his conscious that wants closure, as he continues to not listen to the obvious. The wounds on the hands make me believe this is religious. Valentine’s Day was originally a day commemorating Saint Valentine’s martyrdom. He was executed for refusing to denounce his faith. In Deuteronomy 30:6, there’s a line that says “And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.” What it means is that God puts the mark of circumcision in the hearts of those who served him. The thing inside Jack refused to partake in the commercialized and corporate nature of modern Valentine’s Day, calling it vapid and aimless, and wants its love to have a higher purpose. In a sick twist, it’s actually asking for death so it can become a martyr just like Saint Valentine. It wanted God to circumcise its heart. At the end, the coffin transforms into a door outside a bedroom which makes me believe that Jack shot himself. That thing was inside his head after all. That shot symbolizes Cupid’s Arrow as it proves his devotion. It doesn't explicitly say anything religious, therefore, it could be comparing a broken heart with religious fanaticism. Perhaps, it's a story about a man who was hurt by love and tried erasing his pain by believing that he's destined for something greater and receives closure in death.
