I also see it as that every meal has the bad bits of food you don’t like, like a salad for example. You don’t want to eat it but you have to, and when you eat it, it’s leaves a bad taste in your mouth and puts you off, making you want dessert. (Bad food is trauma and bad experiences; desert is daeth) but you need to eat all your dinner first before dessert, and you’ll find parts of your dinner that you love but you just have to try it first, once you’ve done dinner you can move onto dessert knowing that you ate dinner and it’s an accomplishment.
