Hi Zac, I watch a lot of your videos but I seem to always seem to get left guessing on the “sides” I need to do exercises to affect certain sides of the body. I always follow the sides that you do in the video but generally speaking I often notice that you don’t describe what side to do things (when an activity is unilateral) For example, here you show a limited left straight leg raise and then we you go into the thirsty desert pose, you bring the right leg and right arm out to the side. Perhaps that is the right combination but I think it would be good if you made more references to the sides that are being worked on. Often times you say do things on “one side” but I’m then left guessing what side is being progressed. Hopefully this is useful feedback. Enjoy your day

I appreciate the feedback. Most people it’s safe to do the moves on both sides. Many are limited on both sides. The asymmetry pieces can be confusing without some baseline understanding and mastery of some of the fundamentals I teach in these videos. Hopefully that clarifies the why

- Kinda limited leg raise here. After doing the wall squat for 3 sets of 5 breaths, I was on the treadmill walking without feeling tight calves which amazed me. Then the next day I swear fam my gluteus max was sore like I have never trained it. I will keep doing this excercise two times a day, for 2-4 weeks then progress to a boxsquat and use this a warm up. Am I correct..?

Haha that’s awesome to hear! And yes that can definitely be a good progression. Or even working a squat hold

Good one Zac, when bending over to test hamstring flexibility to touch toes should the knees be near to straight as possible, without locking them, or should you have some bend in the knees with the 'soft knees' instructions that you mention when doing some of your exercises?
@ZacCupplesPT
@ZacCupplesPT Жыл бұрын
I usually coach with knees straight, exercise with knees bent

Solid content. Hey Zach, do you recommend anything for straightening the knee? If I do leg raise I notice my knee is bend, it's not straight like yours.
@ZacCupplesPT
@ZacCupplesPT Жыл бұрын
You want to straighten the knee as best you can. If you can’t at all, I’d call it 0-45 range stuff

What do you do with obese people as for the thirsty desert pose, army crawl, rolling etc?
@ZacCupplesPT
@ZacCupplesPT Жыл бұрын
You can either do more pads under the stomach or do more sidelying stuff. Been having people on the foam roller more (lying on it) and that has worked well

@@ZacCupplesPT but breath means the air that goes into and out of our lungs. That's why I still don't get it. 5 breaths mean 5 reps?

Got any correct exercise for someone with a pretty good sized bakers cyst that keeps the knee from easily going straight.
@ZacCupplesPT

Hard to say without evaluating you and if that’s the cause. Sometimes the cyst can be benign. If you’re medically cleared, some of these moves could help
