So if I have limited IR on the left side I would do left foot forward split squat with more hip hinge and upper body forward and going lower to the ground?

Hmm interesting. I think im in the left AIC pattern, is it safe to say i should go for a hinged split squat with the left leg forward for IR gains and vertical split squat with my right leg forward. Assuming i do everything correct, and decide to progress to holding a light kettlebell, should i be holding it on my right hand for both the left hinged and right vertical?

Greetings Dr Zac, Hope you are doing well. What are I thoughts on the valsalva maneuver? Is it helpful at increasing core activity & stability, as it's often used during the powerlifts.

@@ZacCupplesPT there is a topic I would love to know your insight about. I'm a coach and what I found with myself is that when training with maximum effort on compound lifts other than the big three (so dumbbell presses , Rows , pull ups ...), or isolation lifts, focusing on breathing too much can reduce overall output. Have you seen this with clients?

@@bevictorious7340 focusing on breathing how so? Like during the exercise? II think if there is a drop off in force production training then sure, you'll get a drop off in output, but that's likely more a volume issue than exercise issue. Practically, I haven't seen people get weaker by incorporating this stuff assuming volume is managed

@@ZacCupplesPT like when closer to failure , focusing on breathing in and out rather than the movement might cause a slight reduction in output , what are your thoughts? So just breath normally when closer to the end of the set.

@@bevictorious7340 Well if it's max effort I coach valsalva maneuver. Otherwise I try to go inhale eccentric and exhale on concentric for the most part. Don't get much fancier than that unless I ave to
