Looks great but what's with this horrid trend we see all across manufacturers adding rear fender flares or appendixes. In upscale vehicles they can thankfully be removed, but otherwise it's built in and ruins the three-quarter view. Is it some sort of drooling-stupid EU regulation or something?

Love the car! Beautiful! I feel the cost cuts are evident with no volume or climate control knobs even with the sun roof. When you’re driving think you’re having to take your eyes of the road to much trying to use touch sensitive buttons and trying to read the screen to see if you’re doing it right. Top spec cars should gas struts for the bonnet and I’ve noticed no more logos on the engine covers across the VW group. Is this more cost cutting again? The infotainment system software has a dated feel to me already, maybe it’s the graphics... I’m not sure. But I do like the hard physical look of the display

I'm at the point where the one thing I'm always looking for in these vehicles is a designated space for a spare tyre under the boot cover. Be it full size or a space saver. Nothing can replace having a spare tyre.

I love this so much that, if I still lived in California, I’d buy one and register it in Mexico, and enjoy it. VW needs to think about sending some Sėats and Sködas to the USA. I personally would completely absolve them of any alleged wrongdoing re: the dieselgate scandal. I think VW is using their sub brands to attain “best in world” status. I recognize when a manufacturer is trying hard. VW is.

I really wonder who this car is competing with. Looks like it doesn't really have a competitor. Who are they targeting with it? If they are targeting a lifestyle consumer group who are interested in sporty upmarket crossover coupes, then this VW standart 2L 4cyl is probably not gonna cut it. The potential competition blows it out of the water. RSQ3 has the legendary 2.5L 5cyl. The Stelvio QV has the 2.9 V6. It will have to be priced very competitively in order to be interesting for this target. I doubt that it will though. I think that the closest is the X2 M35i. It has a similar engine 2L 4cyl. I wonder if the BMW M customers could be convinced to swing over to this. It looks nice on the exterior.

Thomas, when you review a car without manual climate controls, could you please check if you can set temperature with voice commands? Maybe voice commands can neglect disadvantages of touch controls and it still can be possible easily to change temperature while driving. Though, I also prefer manual controls...

Nice muscolar design Well balanced volumes, don't like the front grille anche copper details. Wheels designs, front and rear low part of the bumper cold be better designed. Interior there's a lot work to do in that compartiment to be the best ... when I can say that outside design is better than several Germans suv that look not so involving and we can say boring
