A tip on when you add the no support blocks or custom support blocks. Not only can you move them around, but you can also resize and rotate them. This way you don't have to place a lot of them next to each other. You just select the custom no support/support box like you would the model and then select the move/scale/rotate tool.

Great video. However, tree supports do not always use less material. In fact, I have done several prints where tree supports use much more material and take considerably longer to print, but they are much easier to remove and leave fewer artifacts.

@haarbear1
@haarbear1 5 жыл бұрын
@@billyoungers4035 I have not, but that is interesting. I am still experimenting with tree supports, myself. Do the standard supports in question support / hold up part of the tree supports, or the object itself?
@billyoungers4035
@billyoungers4035 5 жыл бұрын
haarbear1 actually it looks like infill. I haven’t tried tree supports in 4.0. Maybe it was a glitch in earlier versions.

DrVax one thing you forgot to mention was the gap you are able to set between the supports and object. This greatly affects ease of removal. This would make topic for a follow up video on supports.
