Man that was awesome result. I'd enjoy watching that. I can't believe the difference between the two. I like the colors on both of your fishing rod man. I want to share this video with a co-worker of mine. Just last week he asked me which one did I think that will go the farthest. Here is the evidence. Thank you so much for the video buddy. I appreciate you sharing it.

you are completely missing the point of bfs fishing. it's not about casting the furthest. it's all about control. try a 6lb fluorocarbon line or a 0.08 braid. Only then will you get the full potential. where I come from you don't even fish for shark with such thick braid hahah. and one more thing your spool doesn't have to be full. 60 yards is enough. that way you also keep the spool weight lower, making casting a lot more pleasant. but nice video man. I'm also glad that you want to take the time for it. keep it up looking forward to the next one .
@BRandomFishing3 жыл бұрын
I never thought of only spooling it with less line to make it lighter. That’s a good point. This braid is the thinnest 10lb that I could find around here so I might have to find some online. It’s still really thin, like 2lb equivalent. Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching 👍
@baitfinesseempire3 жыл бұрын
So... It all depends on what he wants to use the reel for. If he's fishing standard American finesse bass lures, like Ned rigs, he's setup just fine on the reel side. If going for UL... Than yes, run 30-40 yards of thin braid. 10lb is fine, but that braid is thick that's being used in the video. .06-.08pe is a good spot to land in diameter of the braid. You can easily cast to about 2g on the Curado BFS. Biggest detractor in these videos is the rod.
@BRandomFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@baitfinesseempire thanks for the input. I will mostly be fishing with 1/16 oz to 1/8 oz baits. I have a couple better quality rods coming but they are not here yet. This zebco $6 def was not made for high end BFS fishing but I think that shows how amazing this reel is. Even with cheap braid and a cheap rod I was able to efficiently cast light bass lures. The braid is .005” or 0.12 mm
@baitfinesseempire3 жыл бұрын
@@BRandomFishing that's actually thinner than it looked. Should be just fine 👍

Well, that's what the BFS stands for. To replace the Spinning reels, as they have more control over the spinning reels in short casts and stream / creek fishing on light lures.... the key is CONTROL. 😜🍀 Tight Lines B.... 🍀👌🏼🎣

I grew up fishing with a spinning reel only and I’m pretty accurate. For me it’s the experience and the sound of the drag clicker. I hate the souls of spinning reel drag, and a baitcaster has no line twist.

Nice! Not surprised at all with the results. I caught a bass with a Megabass tiny jerkbait this morning across from north shore. It put up a hell of a fight, and made the Curado BFS reel clickity click. ;)

Interesting comparison, but the spinning reel looks underfilled with line and this can be a decisive factor to reach distance.
@BRandomFishing2 жыл бұрын
I could see that. It could be considered to be about 1/32" under filled. That is another great advantage to a baitcasting reel in my opinion. There is no line twist. You can fill the spool all the way without worry of wind knots. When fishing ultra light lures on spinning reels I have noticed that I get a lot of line loops and wind knots if i fill the spool up all the way. Thanks for watching and a really good observation. I would like to do this test with some more comparable gear for sure.

@BRandomFishing7 ай бұрын
@@clydesokuwaga I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. The only reason I would ever use a spinning reel is when I need to cast light baits. Now with bfs, no need. A baitcaster is better in all situations, except skipping. I will do a video on why spinning reels are not as good (wind knots). The key is in the name, spinning reel, spins and twists your line. No way around it.
@joelee2403 жыл бұрын
I used a bfs setup for crappie fishing last spring. I was using a 1/8 oz and 1/16 oz jerkbait. In the morning it was calm and didn't have any problems casting but it got a little windy around mid morning and had to switch back to the spinning setup. Did you have any problems casting on windy days? This summer I used one of my bfs reels for skipping docks. I put 30 yards of 14 mono on the reel and it skipped 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz jigs perfectly.

I haven’t fished in heavy winds. When the wind is blowing I will usually just drag a worm or fish a fluke. I never thought about it for skipping. 👍

Do you find the Ultralight Baitcasting more fun than Ultralight Spinning?
@BRandomFishing3 жыл бұрын
For sure! I am waiting for a couple of nice rods to come from China. It’s hard to find affordable bfs two piece rods here in the states. I really love the drag clicker, it is awesome to hear the drag scream on a baitcaster. I don’t know why they all don’t have it. For me it adds a little extra difficulty to it with the trade off of casting a little farther and not having to worry about wind knots. I don’t even take a spinning reel with me anymore. It completely replaced it for me.

@@BRandomFishing Cool. I been thinking of trying Ultralight Baitcasting. I also ordered some medium heavy casting rods from China through Aliexpress. So far 2 rods arrived and they are excellent quality. Best part they are very affortable. I love them so much I ended up ordering more as backups. However, I haven't found an Ultralight rod yet. And I have tried some of their chinese brand baitcasters with clicker, it was definitely nice to have that sound. So far it's been working smooth for me. Thanks again for your input, I'll be excited to get myself a ultralight baitcasting setup.

Same rod, same line, and a spinning reel does not do anything while casting. No expensive moving parts, it just sits there while the line comes off the spool. There is something magical about the drag clicker on the bfs reel.
@lelikold73557 ай бұрын
it's not correct a bit. There is no point to use the same PE line. The whole idea of BFS is a usage of more powerfull PE/anyother line comparing to regular meatgrinder reel in the same conditions.

It's clear to me you do not use the right Rod for the spinning reel. For the Rod with spinning reel i woud use a Rod with a longer bud and keep Your lure halfway down the Rod when casting. When casting you can push out with you upperhand and pull inn with your hand on the budgrip, do this with a baitcaster, instand bachlash. And did you notice that did't have any birdsnests with the spinningreel.
@mrandrewnikolaev13 жыл бұрын
Looks poor spinning results only because of using unproper line... Try #0.4 - 0.5 PE 8braided line... What is pretty normal for spinning BFS... and you will double your results! But can't day same abot cssting setup - it will. Ot show much difference... So results sounds not very reliable, comparison isn't fair.
