@@IV-fad There are all different kinds of stiffness in UL. The UL-Light-MH-H All that is is the size of the backbone. Action is what determines the stiffness. You can have a very stiff UL or a vice-versa. But even some Rod brands get this wrong and mix up Action and power.

Solid tip, bad rejectory is so common and dont understand why using that at all for BFS especally for distance or jigging and hooking. But everone has his own cup of thea and they never change it. One thing is for sure you like what you doing. Got the Aldebaran Bfs xg Poison Adrene Bfs and more then enough, fishing is a learning game too, think out and above the box. Excample cast 20 till 30 yards plus easy with 3.5 gram/1/4 onz on 1.95 cm rod if distance is needed. Otherwise flick of the pols small waters solid tip will do the job, but why break up a rod in piece with top weight on the top-end and grazy wobble rejectory it really rings no bell but in small streams less issues. Best rods are hollow and 1 piece/ blank for the best performing but depending what you want to do with it and also line you using.

oh gotcha! u want lighter reels. Would be nice if he would cast into the dark section of water where the trees are reflected in it, so maybe we could actually see where it's hitting the water instead of having to take his word for it. I try my best to count how many times he cranks to reel it in, and the number of cranks seems to match up pretty well with the distance he estimates.

@@rawrfishing No offense, it's just that I watched a how-to BFS video where the host claimed to be casting 70-80 feet on a grass lawn After about ten casts he stepped off the distance and even with him taking noticeably short steps he only got to 18 steps, which means he probably wasn't making it 50 feet. That was one of the first BFS vids I watched and it must have traumatized me. 🙂 I've always favored the smaller side of fishing, that is, smaller hooks, tackle, line, lighter rods etc, (I'm also a longtime fly fisherman) and when I found out about BFS a few months ago I knew I had to get in on it. With all that said, I just ordered the same rod you used in this vid from your site, Bait Finesse Empire. I've looked at a lot of the big fishing sites and the true UL BFS rods with the action I want are usually too many $$$. Amazon has a few that are in the ballpark but they all seemed like I was compromising something, and I wasn't as impressed with them as I was with the way you were dominating the pond with the rod you used. It looked like just the right blend of length, backbone, and tip action to be a great BFS rod for my purposes. I just received my Curado BFS XG the other day (left handed...high five!), because I'm a lifelong Shimano reel fan after 40+ years of using their spinning gear. I've been keeping my eyes open for a good rod to go with it. It's my first BFS reel, fifth baitcaster. I just started using baitcasters two years ago, and I also have a Curado 200, an SLX DC 151, a Daiwa Tatula 100, and a $45 Abu Garcia Max X, which was my first one. I'm looking forward to receiving my rod so I can rig it up and get outside to do some practice casts. The temperature has been a roller-coaster here in Wisconsin so far this winter with highs from 7-35F depending on the day. We have almost no snow on the ground right now, so casting on the lawn for ten minutes at a time is doable if it's a "warm" day. Thanks for the vid and for pointing me toward just the rod and price point I was looking for. If all goes well with my rod purchase, you'll have a customer for life.
@rawrfishingКүн бұрын
Not offended at all. When I first started making these videos, I did focus on trying to estimate casting distance for viewers. once in a while, I will count the number of cranks, but it's still fairly inaccurate since manufacturers give you the IPT/CPT when the spool is maxed, but as an UL enthusiasts on BFS, we don't even get close to max spool! We limit our line to keep the weight low and thus, there's no way to really get the distance unless I want to roll out some tape or use a tool to count the line. But in todays videos, I hardly measure anymore as BFS isn't really about casting distances, but I get it.. We still need some sort of casting distance to say BFS is worth it. So some reels will, you will see me count some cranks, but my recent videos focuses on exploring the brakes behavior and seeing the range of lures it casts with specific rod and line spooled on. BFS rods are very interesting. Most American BFS rods are geared towards bass fishing right now. Most of my BFS rods and videos are more for multispecies and throwing lighter lures. This one is an Aji style rod, stiff rod tip for imparting motion. It is also fragile so don't boat flip anything :P If you can tell me more about what lure ranges you are trying to cast and what your fishery is like, I can share with you rods I currently use for that fishing. I got bass rods, multispecies rod, trout rod and even inshore finesse rods for BFS reels!

This Reel is technically better than both Spiritfox and Zephyr in all aspects but the spool weight. Even tho that is the case, they cast very similarly on how low the weights can go.
