LD is very clever. My dad did his exact Zoom Play back in the 40s (play Semi-Pro and coached). It was called the "button hook n go." Before he died he taught me to set up the D by doing a bunch of button hooks and then catch 'em w/ the button hook n go. He would have got a "kick" out of Larry!

@@davidmontgomery1442 the problem is in a scenario where both teams would've driven down the field to score a TD had they gotten the ball first, then the coin flip determines the outcome. I understand the issue there though is you have to draw the line somewhere. If both teams keep going down scoring one after another, the chances of injuries skyrockets and players are more beaten up before their next game. In college it's fairer but yeah when you have a ridiculous number of overtimes you're risking kid's health in the sake of fairness. It's a tough one.

Sudden death takes the physical toll of playing into account. Same reason why teams only play one game a week and why the season is so short. Such a high risk of injuries and star players getting sidelined isn’t good for the league.
