This scene really caught me off guard - normally in Curb the situations are so absurd and LD tries to use his words to get out of them in realistic-feeling but still over the top ways (ultimately putting his foot in his mouth or temporarily succeeding only for the other shoe to drop later), but here he just doesn't say anything despite the "long story" only being a few words long. Obviously the "long story" line tees up "like 400 years long" which is great, but I kept wondering why he didn't just say "I'm staying at an AirBnB and need to replace the lawn decor after breaking it." Definitely an odd off-beat moment for Curb
@NewFalconerRecords9 ай бұрын
He has done this same thing in several episodes. An honest answer would probably get him out of trouble (and you wonder why he just doesn't tell the truth) but he always goes for the comedy of the situation, to dig himself into a further hole. I'm with you though. Just tell the guy the simple truth!

I turned my key and opened the door, practically up to my elbows in greasy filling and of course the call I'd been waiting for rang, so I unsuccessfully tried a two finger extraction from my pocket just to discover it was my friend who needed to borrow a car, and I just gave up on the day and stood under the shower in my clothing.
