I didn't like it to start with then I changed decks, put wedges in and risers and it's my fav system now. I walk far to get to my skate spots too so it being super light is great!

So cool, thanks Mark. Out of all the surf skate trucks on the market I thought the Curfboard truck would be one of the worse trucks in a bowl for the simple reason it has no return to Center like other surf trucks do. Your in-depth review showed us this is not true and is very functional in the bowl and dropping in. When you turned the trucks all the way before dropping in I noticed as soon as one of the front wheels made contact with the ground the truck quickly returned to center because of the loose swing motion adherent with this truck. Although, not so good for rolling-in on a angle, that threw you right off the board and like you said besides that this Curfboard truck is becoming a favorite. I love how it grids the coping....hang on man!

Thanks for the update. Great follow up review! I enjoy my Curf trucks, and find that they are super friendly and welcoming for beginners. Have you had a chance to try them on a pump track?

MARK!!! These look amazing!! I just ordered a set of the trucks!! How long did they take to get to you? Are they coming from Germany?? My MAIN QUESTION is what type of wheel base would you recommend for an all around best ride? I ride in parks a lot but also live just cruising in my driveway. Most everything I have is between 14.5 to 16 inches…I was wondering about a Steve wisniewski dope planet deck?

I honestly don't recall the shipping time, but given that I don't remember, that is an indicator that it wasn't too bad. These trucks turn so tight, that I think they thrive with a slightly longer wheelbase. They feel great on the 18" stock deck. Smallest I went was on a 16.75" and they still felt good but I think I preferred the 17-18 options for flow. I am about 6 foot for reference. If you already have a deck with a shorter wheelbase, try it out, but if not you might want to look for something at least 16"

Hey Mark, I really like your videos - it helps a lot. Do you drop in with the fish? And what do you think about it regarding surf feeling and tricks compared to the wave or other surfskates?
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer 11 ай бұрын
Other than aesthetics, I didn’t find a big difference between the fish and the wave. Otherwise I think everything is mostly covered in the video. It is definitely on the surfier end of the spectrum, the nose feeling really loose and floaty so you can drive from your back leg.

This might be the board I ought to try, or system I should say. It seems like the waterborne system gets a little squirrely like that too.

It is one that is just unlike anything else. It is kind of like Cilantro. I know some people who dislike it a lot and others who really love it. And like Cilantro, I love it in certain circumstances, but don’t miss it in others. My wife wasn’t a big fan of the curfboard (she mostly rides flatland) until I insisted that she try it on the mini ramp as she struggled with the other boards. After that it was the only one she wanted to use on the mini ramp and helped her progress beyond what she could do with other systems.

@@MarktheLandlockedSurfer I've got an idea to build a more skate surf oriented surf skate, I thought about using the CX system, but then I see this one, I'd really like to find out how they compare, what's your insight Mark? It looks like you've been feeling much better mark, I was actually diagnosed with cardiopulmonary disease. I was treated with a real strong antibiotic. I've been taking the past two or three weeks and I'm much better now. I'm back to pretty much well skating something everyday.
@MarktheLandlockedSurfer

@@williammadray7818 Glad to hear you are getting good results and back skating again. Advantages of the CX are that they are adjustable in tension. If you add the ultra soft bushing that surfskate love and riptide just released, I find they feel nearly as loose and easy to accelerate as the curf trucks. But the downside is that they are heavier and higher and they have that atrocious kingpin that sticks out and can hangup/get damaged on grinds. I know some have managed to flip the kingpin, and others who have destroyed their CX truck trying to flip it. Because CX have bushings, they don't have the issue where they can twist unexpectedly when going over a hip.

How is this compare to smoothstar? Looks the same with the side to side motion. But what's amazing with this board is how low it is. P.S. You should definitely make tutorial on carving on transitions :)

yes, briefly at the start but then I switched when I got the new set of C-7s. Now that I have some more qwik truk plates I'll be setting up a set for the winter to keep in regular rotation at the indoor park.

Hi mark. Totally agree, it’s my preferred Setup in a open bowl without hitting to many angles 📐 due to the back trucks lifting itself of the ground . You get used to it, but it’s there in the back of my mind and the roll in not the best idea. But you can lift the nose and drop in, but I’m not confident enough yet. Standstill drops easy as pie 🥧 as a TKP truck. I tried it with a electric mellow drive and surfing in a bowl full speed it’s the closet I’ve come to really improve my vertical top to bottom turn. I’m fortunate to have this totally empty skatepark that have this 100m long big ramp with two super sets, that you can transition into and really get up there. I think nobody uses it because it’s it difficult to do a bottom turn and come back up again due to the design and shitty concrete. But with a little help from the drive and 80mm soft wheels, it works. But what a bummer, one of the drive as failed and the company is not responding. So have to find an electro mechanical somewhere. I know that Bustin in New York makes a similar design. Try to hit them up and see if they will send you one to test out. I would say if you have some skate experience you should be able to totally rip in a bowl without the skill of even dropping in after only one session. I use a Bustin Yoface and prefer the CX , the wheelbase really gets short. Tried it with a Smoothstar truck and think the wheels base was like nonexistent, almost looking comical.
