Can silhouette increase the speed the curio 2 through the silhouette business software edition? Wonder why the didn’t make the speed equal to the cameo5. I assume it will be faster than the cameo 4. The cameo 4 is quite a bit faster than the curio. Could you list the different abilities please include which tools work with the cameo 5 and the curio 2? Thanks for your help

I think that silhouette is more concerned with power over speed when it comes to the curio. Even though the curio can cut vinyl and paper, its focus is more on the tougher jobs, like engraving. The speed is adjustable in the software, but I haven't experimented with that yet, as it affects the quality of the cut.

I thought it was slower because of the new intelligent path technology, which isn’t just a straight line, but skips around in order to have more precision with finer cuts, but she said it didn’t use that technology based on the autoblade (?). I didn’t think the blade determined whether that technology was being used, but maybe it is? (Confused a bit…). I have the old Curio, and I love it. I never had trouble with the cuts, even really tiny things, so this technology is supposed to be better, albeit slower. However, it looks like it’s a similar speed to what I’ve seen with my Curio (1). I’d have to learn more…

Yep! You might just have to play around with settings a bit to get the cut right.

Why are you using cutting mat and not the es mat?

The ES mat is for thin material. The grip on it isn't strong enough for the tougher jobs.

I haven't, but I definitely should! I've done bookmarks and keychains with faux leather, but not earrings.
