Great advice. I initially thought I had to pay some to program this remote. I was wrong your step & trouble shutting solution steps were right on point. Especially when disconnected power supply to fire stick it self once I reconnect- it connected the fire stick to remote n problem solved. Once you have new batteries it’s down hill from there. Just follow the process. These guys are on point.

I have looked at a half dozen videos on this topic, everyone mentions the powering on/off of the Stick and Remote but yours is the first that has mentioned the Equipment Control section in the Settings. I had set up a friends new Fire TV Stick 4K on my TV in order to allow me to set it up at my leisure instead of "under the pressure" of doing it all at their home. As with most things, no good deed goes unpunished. Everything went fine on my TV but of course the remote would not control the friend's TV (volume, on/off, mute). I tried all the power off/power on combinations to reset the TV and remote, pressing the Home button, etc. [I don't understand why Amazon doesn't have a Unpair function under Controllers & Bluetooth Devices like it does for the bluetooth devices, that would be too user-friendly.] After watching this video I went back to the friend's TV, opened the Equipment Control, Manage Equipment, TV, and Change TV. I went through the process of changing from my TV to the friend's and viola the remote now controls the TV functions. Thank you for this and your other videos, they have been very helpful in getting the most out of a bunch of Fire TV Sticks.

I liked your video very much. You covered a lot of information that’s super-helpful to me and I thank you for that. The presenter is obviously very knowledgeable about the Amazon firestick! My only note would be that the speaker is a little too fast for me. I found myself needing to pause and rewind a couple of times to make sure I grasped something completely. In making future videos, I’d suggest to slow down just a bit for slowpokes like me. Not everyone may have found this to be a problem? Overall, it was an excellent, informative video. Thank you!

Yep it was the darn batts. I started my workout downstairs, turned on fine, nav'd fine. Then after finishing, I pushed the power button and tv wouldn't turn off. I tried the 10 sec sync I saw elsewhere, no luck. Then saw first minute of yours and oh yeah those crappy stock batteries. Works now. thanks.

Thanks mate I tryed to pair the remote pair for the volume but manged to unpair it . So I did what you said just take the battery's out of the remote and unplug the fire stick for ten mins . Booted it back up , put the battery back in and boom working straight away . Thanks buddy

Great service! Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, my firestick is still not working. I bought new batteries. I then resynced the remote to my Samsung TV using your instructions. Don't know if it matters, but my remote blinked red, not white like yours. And, I did not recover control of my firestick. I have not changed my TV, but I can't access settings on my firestick, anyway. Can you please help?
