I served in the US Navy back in the 70s, in California. Whenever we’d buy a used car, the first stop was to drive it over to the base and ask security to have the drug dogs give the vehicle a sniffing inspection The logic was that it was better to have it searched on day 1, as a precaution, then have anything found during a random Stop and Search later.
@superdave82482 жыл бұрын
When I rent a vehicle, I give it a full walk through. Over the years it would be no surprise to anybody the things I found in vehicles. And living on the East Coast I once had a High Patrolman tell me that they target vehicles on I95 with either New York or Florida license plates. Usually a red flag that the vehicle is used to move product between the two states and every state inbetween. And I must say, every vehicle at all the rental agencies all seem to have Florida plates. Over the years I have found bullets, fire crackers, and more air fresheners than I care to count. I remember one rental I looked at had so many air fresheners under the driver's seat the seat had trouble moving back and forth. LOL Yeah, if you got access to a drug sniffing dog, take advantage of it. The last thing you want is to get pulled over in a rental when you and the cleaner both missed the bag of drugs stuffed under the console.

Using a police drug sniffing dog depends on how busy the officer and dog may be at that time. Please call first! Hubby had an EOD (explosives) dog…there were times they had more than one call per day. In a big city, even with a large unit, work can be very busy indeed. Dog can’t work constantly.

I always check things. If it's something I like and want to keep it stays outside on the side porch to be cleaned outside before bringing it inside my home. If it's clothes we wash it in a cheap plastic kids pool to get most of the stuff off and then put it in the washer down in the basement. We bring used clothes like that through the back basement door and never mix them with our normal clothes until washed at least once. I once had a dollhouse I really liked have a few bugs and it was on the porch sprayed with raid and cleaned thoroughly. I got the dollhouse to fix it up. the paper on the walls of the dollhouse had gotten messed up like if someone smoked around it for years and I removed all of it by hand to get new paper on it. I used contact paper to replace the paper it once had with something better. The dollhouse was almost as tall as me. It's 3ft tall and $100 online. I'm around 4ft 10 so my head was the only thing that was above the doll house when standing in front of it. The dollhouse is currently in the garage still being worked on. The electronic parts all work just fine so there was nothing that was needed for that to work. I will be buying some of the original furniture and things used online to replace some things if I can find any of it.

Non-emergency, even for drugs, aren't a priority, as shocking as that sounds. If no one is in immediate danger, you're at the bottom of the list. You did a good thing by taking the stuff to the police department, just wish they had of went to the unit that next day with you to be able to see if they found anything else. I’m glad you got to salvage some of the things for resale and to keep. You are right about you never know what you’ll find or the people you’ll meet along the way. I have a hunch that the girl isn’t the actual dealer but is holding/hiding it for someone. Possibly someone who’s currently in jail? The fact it was hidden right at the back of the unit means she’s clearly not a user or dealer as she’d need easy access if that was the case (unless there’s another door at the other side of the unit? Not sure how these storage units are configured).

@@CuriosityIncorporated She is in far to deep already.. she can only hope that the police came to collect her right away. Only then she may have a change. This looks to me like a girl who has some debt with a 'friend'. And all these consils and tv and stuff are colleteral from other people who have the same 'friend'. So that this friend would stay out of the picture if everything goes wrong. To pay of her debt she needed to keep this and store these things for her 'friend'. If her 'friend' finds out she lost it, she will be taken care off... Either way she was already screwed, because of this addiction. Sad but true.. Be carefull you won't get charged for fencing Alex!

Multiple ways this locker could have gone wrong. Primary is the health and safety concerns of physical contact. Items of value especially illegal that are wanted by previous owner have the potential of negative interactions for retrieval maybe away from storage location. Even without any of that, doing the “right thing” could have caused the seizure of the entire contents of the locker to not be returned and loss of money spent. Then the unlikely but always possibility of revenge or reprisals. Glad everything went as well as it did
@myleftthumb22942 жыл бұрын
@1:36 - 2:00, it looks like you can just go over the left-side wall into the next unit. Pretty sketchy "security" there, so finish cleaning your side out and just chuck the bag on over.
