Is that even legal to through those in the trash?
@classicambo97812 жыл бұрын
@@phangirlable it absolutely is. I've known several cremains that ended up in trash due to family dynamics. They are inert and harmless, only public restriction I know of is in place in New Zealand where putting cremains into rivers is considered highly disrespectful and the local maori whanua have recourse to seek reparations.
@phangirlable2 жыл бұрын
@@classicambo9781 I'm pretty sure it's illegal in Europe and you can only put ashes of the deceased into nature at designated areas too. Pretty messed up of NZ to only take the culture of the maori into account.
@hilaryc32032 жыл бұрын
I actually don't have a problem with dumping ashes in the garbage. More and more regions have large garbage burning facilities and that turns waste into electricity (enough to power 16,000 homes a year) and recovers about 7,000 tonnes of metal annually. It's efficient, tidy, and perfectly fine. There are usually ordinances in place that don't allow scattering ashes within city limits, but if people can scatter ashes out in the countryside, or in a lake, why get upset over the dump? Scattering ashes in a lake or an ocean is pollution and I'd be more upset about that. The person is dead; it's not the body or bones, it just ashes. And even if there are no burning facilities and the urns to to the dump, that is not the person. No body, no bones. No ghosts, no nothing, no lingering energy, just...a pile of ashes that is not the person when they lived. Religion influences people into thinking it is disrespectful when it's actually not. I want to be cremated, but I don't want my daughter to get my ashes and keep me around or pollute the waters with me. I told her to just let the crematorium dispose of them. I won't care, I'll be dead.
@phangirlable2 жыл бұрын
@@hilaryc3203 Well, yes, but that is your personal feeling about the thing. I mostly agree for myself personally (meaning my remains) but obviously how the remains of people are handled is deeply connected to religion, spiritual beliefs etc.

Just started watching this episode when I noticed the comments. Coming from a 60 year old I have noticed that a lot of people are so insecure and when they see someone doing well they are going to try and bust your balls, some can't stand it when others do well, here in Australia we call it The Tall Poppy Syndrome, or knockers. Honey you ate doing OK. It takes courage, immense courage to do what you do and I hope you do well as you work so hard. Your ramblings I love, it's like a friend talking to me and sharing their life and work with me. It also helps that you are also a fine looking lad, like Elvis in his much younger days and that accent. It also shows how much you love your family and the joy they have at what you do. So don't read the negative comments, keep doing what this Granny loves you doing cause you are doing just fine. You rock and so does your team.

When he died I was left trying to sort through everything and not knowing what I was going to do with all of that stuff. I could have only wished that I could have had some one like you to help me deal with that. I have 24 books about them, 3 models I’ve built, 2 Italian- made prints, 3 replica tin models, and 2 Christmas ornaments. I can tell you the exact length of the Hindenburg and could spend literal hours just excitedly discussing their history, specs, crash and mortality rate, and the complicated history of American helium production and how the political climate of the 1930s exacerbated the tragedy of the Hindenburg. I wish So Badly I could somehow call dibs on that zeppelin piece, but I totally get how cool it is and I am so glad you respect how cool it is, too! When I was growing up, I’m now 71, we had a ouija board and it was just a game for fun. Didn’t have any creepy reason for having it. That didn’t stop us from having ghostly and fun spooky games. I’m so glad you and Patrick were able to get this house cleaned out so fast. Fran

(Just finished watching the whole thing) WOW!!! 8-1/2 days?!! And just you two guys! Holey 🐄 My good friends came over today to help with Round II of The Big Purge. Still mostly hubby's stuff (plus a bit of mine!). Today it was a metric ton of books! But there's soooo much more to go (I kinda wish it took you guys longer!) Still enjoying the journey and looking forward to the next videos! Thanks! 💜

Somebody thrifted a coat & found a Rolex in the pocket. She sold it to a jeweller for $7800k but it was worth significantly more. When my mom passed I was going to donate her costume jewelry but at the last minute I decided to look through everything again. I found authentic vintage Chanel earrings that I sold for $1k.

I am not surprised that you felt the energy from the remains that were in the house. I am an empathic person and very sensitive to those things. Energy can stay attached to objects as well. I probably would have been constantly praying if I was in there or would have had inspirational music playing to put out positive energy. I always appreciate the respect you have for the life situations of others when dealing with their belongings. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes that you share. Blessings to you and your family, thanks for sharing your time with us.

I so enjoy all of your videos. You are truly a good, ethical person. I think the energy lightened in the house cause you cleaned out the hoard and all the negative emotions associated with creating such a living space. Good job.

Just wanted to add Alex, it’s human to focus on the negative. I have been following you and Melissa since the potters house, you do what you do with the best of intention. Amazing achievement to empty that house in 8 1/2 days Herculean effort. Ignore the haters.
