First, boiling temperatures at the elevation of Yellowstone is 199 F (92 C). The accident described here is not actually very common. While is is a dumb (and extremely painful) way to die. I was working in the park the year a tourist stopped off with his dog. Failing to place his dog on a leash the dog, who loved the water, ran out and before anyone could stop him jumped into the water. Witnesses said the sounds the dog made were the most horrifying sounds most of them ever heard. It proved too much for the owner who pulled his shirt off and before anyone could stop him he to jumped into the water. 199 F is hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns to human and canine skin instantly. As both dog and owner were completely submerged both suffered 3rd degree burns over 100% of their body. There is simply no way to survive such terrible burns. The worst part is, the water is not hot enough to destroy the pain receptors in your skin as a fire will do. So this means every pain receptor in the mans skin did nothing but send massive levels of pain to his brain for the rest of his life. It was a very long three days.

@@13699111 Precisely! This is where modern day meatheads, ego maniacs and Neanderthals get confused. “Survival of the fittest” and “Strongest survive” are misleading quotes and are NOT scientific fact or theory of our evolution. In FACT the fittest and strongest do not always survive but idiots take it literally and do all kinds of bizarre and extreme activities to try and chase this and put themselves physically in the fantasy of this reality they have created. The actual scientific theory and fact is that the most “adaptable” species are the ones that survive and prosper. Sometimes it is through fortune and chance but regarding humans (homosapiens) it has been through intelligence. Case in point, Neanderthals were actually much bigger than humans, far far stronger, had much bigger brains and were ferocious HOWEVER human beings developed their intelligence and were able to problem solve and creatively adapt their ways of hunting and gathering to ensure that they would get their prey and thus food source whereas Neanderthals were far far more explosive but tired very quickly and lacked the intelligence to adapt and it is believed that they lost access to food sources because of this and developed poorer health and disease which led to their extinction. The question now is can human beings adapt to not wiping out the entire planet and ourselves through a combination of intelligence and our beastly instincts.

@@painmagnet1well it’s the democrats that came down on the side of unions. Then later supported the civil rights movement losing many of their voters in the process. That last is interesting because these supporters did believe in unions. But why would civil rights cause them to shoot them selves in the foot with unions? Or as a number of so called republicans voters did not long ago “Government! Hands off my Medicare!” Or one who worked for the government and was a member of a public employee union appalled that the new governor of his state wanted to gut this guy’s union. Guy whined he’d voted Republican all his life. Makes me wonder why he voted for a party that’s been fighting against unions for years and are dismissive of government employees.

The forst story is not a Darwin Award. This was rather a fatal accident and a tragedy caused by one moron bringing a crocodile onboard of an airplane. That the passengers panicked is more than relatable.

@@CuriosityVaultChannel I'm a visual artist, and have spent decades honing my craft. It enrages me that techbros can claim they are "creatives", just because they have the ability to put prompts into AI. Each prompt uses up 16 oz of water, because of the insane amount of energy it takes to keep the structure cool. Like we have spare water on this bloody planet. Also, AI/ChatGPT steals from existing art/music/voices/actors, and spews back some mediocre version, without paying a cent/penny, or giving credit where it's due. Apologies for the rant! There are actually aniti AI groups on places like FaceBook, and I wish people understood the cost on the environment, as well as actual creative people, such as yourself. I'm preaching to the choir! Well, best wishes to you, and as the Americans say "Have a great day!"

A UN plane went down in DRC in 2010. My friend was the co-pilot, no survivors. The reason it crashed is widely believed to be that it wasn’t carrying enough fuel as the ground crews somehow ‘fix’ the fuel weights so they can sell the excess, it also crashed on approach in he ‘other Congo’ across the river. Apparently it burnt up more fuel en route than ex[expected as it had to fly around unexpected weather conditions. To cover it up the DRC investigators said a crocodile had been sneaked aboard and that it had attacked people. Exactly the same story as this. I lived in Kinshasa at the time and we saw the croc story as a corc of…
