From not producing as many tanks that are useless when hit with blinding cloud or you don't think it's worth the investment to have 3 to 4 ghost rdy to emp the vipers when they come in to use cloud on your units which are ALL ranged? How much gas is a tank and how much gas is a ghost? And what do you want to have when you see vipers coming? Pretty simple to me.

I think ghosts would have been even more effective than vikings. But in the end it was a low eco game. And Curioius never wasted huge armies of roaches and/or hydras. He kept his armies alive all the time while taking out dozens of really expensive units. Ghosts with snipes or bcs with yamato maybe. Dunno.

It's not unbalanced. It's the unit's nature. Zerg players feel the same feeling when we see widow mines. "Oh just plant then down and whoosh! 30 Zergling kills" At least Viper has direct counter, which is Vikings. If Flash had 7 Vikings, he would've easily won the battle. Widowmines don't have a direct counter other a composition that can counter the unit.

So Im not understanding... by seeing that many mutas.. wouldnt you think (I play toss) you need some sort of splash aa? (storm is what i would think of). But for terran, thors? thor splash vs muta is great... why not stop mutas with that? of course Curious can magic box thors, but that allows the rines to more easily pick off mutas. Plus, throw in some hellbats? You know? mop up zerglings and armored to lessen damage of banes? I dont understand...

Would it kill a pro to invest in having some ghost for emps? All u need is 1 barracks to produce 3 or so ghost. Those vipers come in for blinding cloud and u hit them.

geez.. tuned in to watch Flash playing sc2. i used to follow the BW scene a lot and sadly the biggest impression to take from this so far is the horrible lag that the players are forced to deal with. this is an IEM tournament for crying out loud, you'd think they'd have better a setting for it.

Except vikings don't actually counter vipers very well, they just get pulled into a hydra ball and die immediately. Plus the fact that mech units aren't so good that you can afford to waste money in otherwise useless vikings if they end up not getting vipers. Terran pros just do the same old bio/mine/medivac style in pretty much every single high level tourney game since mech isn't an option vs good zergs. Widow mines on the other hand are countered by learning how to micro.

This is a game of strategy and counters I wasn't a pro and I thought infesters should be used to lock marines down from running months before it became "overpowered". I thought hellions should be used more to combat zerglings before they were being used. It seemed pretty obvious to me. I am still waiting to see pros put burrowed banglings in minerals lines before it is taken. Your comment implies pro's know it all and can't learn from others who are not pros. A pretty narrow perspective.

I usually think it's senseless to whine about balance or game design but I have to say it really sucks that mech is so god awful that Flash (who is the superior player here) with a supply advantage, upgrade advantage and additional mininig base could not win that second game.
