Skipping steps is one thing but the verifying step is mind blowing.

What 2 beautiful young ladies they were. I couldn't help but cry for the Shepherds. 💔😪

I was on a small plane once, that was over weight at the back due to baggage. The pilot had a larger passenger move up to the front to counter balance!!
@DNTMEE Жыл бұрын
Seems like the best way to go is to weigh the entire plane after it is fully loaded. A few strain gauges where the aircraft is parked is all that would be needed. They could also figure the real center of gravity for the plane. No need to estimate or weigh every passenger and the baggage.

Good point 👍🏼 I was wondering why they don’t install the weighing scales where the plane drive across before going to the runway , I would imagine that would give them a very accurate measurement of the planes weight in a matter of seconds.

here on your page, because mark garrison of wbt radio stated how good this documentary was today on his 6:00 p.m. newscast!

Ridiculous that the airline used an average weight chart that was almost 70 years old (Have you seen the average American lately?). Even worse that the lazy maintenance manager skipped steps in the process, had a trainee do the work and signed off on his decision to skip steps and his own shoddy work. Poor captain Leslie and FO Gibbs had no chance at all.

Mechanics AND the airline should be held ACCOUNTABLE for such deadly mistakes....but not in the USA

I want to know why there are no charges were filed., when it involves airplane Clearly, it was negligence. If you were driving and get into an accident, and they found that I was speeding or under the influence, I can be charged.

What operators of smaller planes need to do is weigh each passenger along with their baggage, before boarding. Put both passenger and bags on a scale at check-in. That way the pilots will know exactly how much weight they are carrying. Also, most crashes of the Beechcraft 1900 involved planes that were full.
@RenaissanceRedneck Жыл бұрын
Yup, and then balance based on actual passenger weights. Some airlines do it. I'm a big fella, and frequently fly on regional planes. I've been asked to move fore or aft a number of times, as well as side to side.

Charlotte used to be a great place to live--- in 2003 (at the time of the crash) she was still in her sweet spot. Unfortunately, i'm looking to move now-- this city is now ghetto, dangerous, with horrible schools, and corrupt, inept local government. And, lest i forget... beggars on every street corner and in every parking lot.

I wonder if stunt pilot or military pilot training would have helped this tragic situation. ? Say loop the plane [too close to ground?] ... or in dive push to ground to increase control [too close to ground?] I see no reason for using 'average weight' on anything in the air. What is the issue resisting its implementation? Why can it not be made a mandatory practice, along with scale validity checks?
