HOW TO: Beginners Guide to Building Gundam/Gunpla

Many of you wanted to know how to simply build these kits right out of the box so I felt it was time to make a detailed, yet simple how to tutorial. Hopefully this helps out both experienced and beginner Gundam builders alike!

I just bought a ACKS Mechagodzilla (Kiryu) model kit for almost $200. I didn’t know it was going to be hard 😂 , so I just bought a Gundam model kit for $13 so I can practice before doing the mechagodzilla kit don’t wanna mess Up ur vid rlly helped out thx for the tutorial

@@Curioventura Your father is an absolute legend. I recently got into this, my first kit is Deathscythe Hell EW custom, the winged one, and it's still in the process of making. But I never could've even imagined how fun and calming and peaceful this can be. Even If you build just 1 body part a day, like a calf, or a thigh, or a waist piece, it's time well spent. It helps my skills of focus and patience A LOT. It's not only about the final product, the Mobile Suit itself, but also about the journey, and treating each piece with love and care.

I'm so glad I found this video. I just received this exact model for my first assembly of a Mobile Suit Gundam. I saw in another video that claimed the trays that you cut the pieces out of (Runners?) need to be washed to remove molding? Anyone know why this would be the case?

It's easier to clean all the pieces while still on the runners for some. I just use an ultrasonic cleaner with the pieces cut out.

I would strongly advise against starting with a perfect grade. If you want a large size Unicorn that's easy to build for your first kit, get a Mega Size Unicorn

Wait I have a question In the head pice you cut out all the pieces and laid them out. How do you not get confused on which pieces to snap together? I thought you just cut them out together then cut against an out that pice with the rest.

Experience. However its fairly easy to figure whats what by just looking at the parts and comparing them to the pictures in the manual. Just pay close attention to whats on the left side and what goes on the right side and sort them accordingly. At this point, I rarely look to manuals anymore as I've been doing this for so many years that I pretty much know what goes where on most kits.

Thanks for watching! Yes just get the Bandai one that I built in this video. Its the full mechanics 1/100 scale kit. You can get them for around 30-40 bucks depending on where you shop but Id try ebay or amazon

You could also buy them from Hobby link Japan. You only have to take into account that there's a possibility you have to pay shipping costs, vat etc. Depending on the price. In Europe they won't charge a lot of extra things due to a trade agreement with Japan

Back when I was a kid I never had the patience to build a kit like this. But now that I am older and more organized I might give it a shot with an 1/144 HG model first (The accessible model for beginners)after I watched Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt December Sky. To see if I like it and to see if I can test my patience. With a guide like this it won't be a problem. Great video mate
