You could have kept this much, much simpler, yet it's a credit to your teaching skill that I was able to follow

Great video Sal Notcied a slight mistake in the cross product. The order in the j exression is switched. It should be j ( (Fx * d/dz) - (Fz * d/dx) ) With the d/dz part first

No mistake there. Negative sign before j-component. pay attention

Great videos! I was watching one, but these are so good in explaining the intuition, I am on the 8th video. Wonderful videos! Thanks alot!

The Rule of Sarrus helps in computing the determinant of a 3x3 matrix. Look it up, it’s handy.

@ 4:50 I think the J-hat gets a minus before it instead of a plus. You normally subtract the J-hat in a determinate calculation like this... pattern is + - + (+) i hat (-) j hat (+) k hat and also you use Z hat but normally it is in the form I hat, J hat, K hat.

I never understood the connection between the definition of the curl (the limit where you take a very small line integral and divide by the surface area) and the way you calculate it (del cross...)

Can someone explain the 3 dimensional intuition of curl relating to rotation like Sal did in the first video

As soon as you draw the straight line I'm lost. I suppose this has something to do with matrices? I'm not familiar with that subject :( . I guess I'll have to go and study that first then. You probably have some video about it :P.

you ppl need to get used to it... he normally says z direction or y direction instead of k hat and j hat... thats normal... that way he covers both the ijk system and the (x,y,z) system....

In the real world, functions are complicated and having an intuition helps solve them. Maybe that's why.
