I run a maths coaching college and you kick my butt sail both as a teacher and understanding of maths

sal,you are the best thing on youtube :D

You could have kept this much, much simpler, yet it's a credit to your teaching skill that I was able to follow

Great video Sal Notcied a slight mistake in the cross product. The order in the j exression is switched. It should be j ( (Fx * d/dz) - (Fz * d/dx) ) With the d/dz part first
@iamavolk4 жыл бұрын
No mistake there. Negative sign before j-component. pay attention

"i don't know" . thumbs up if you get what i meant

Great videos! I was watching one, but these are so good in explaining the intuition, I am on the 8th video. Wonderful videos! Thanks alot!

do you have any videos on Stokes' Theorem and the Divergence Theorem?

The Rule of Sarrus helps in computing the determinant of a 3x3 matrix. Look it up, it’s handy.

@ 4:50 I think the J-hat gets a minus before it instead of a plus. You normally subtract the J-hat in a determinate calculation like this... pattern is + - + (+) i hat (-) j hat (+) k hat and also you use Z hat but normally it is in the form I hat, J hat, K hat.

well.. i realize now u correct it later.. nvm

just the defenition of determinante... +-+-+-+-...

Hi! BTW in 01:18 you say that the z direction zhat when it is khat. :) Good Job with everything! :)

I never understood the connection between the definition of the curl (the limit where you take a very small line integral and divide by the surface area) and the way you calculate it (del cross...)
@deeptochatterjee5327 жыл бұрын
Can someone explain the 3 dimensional intuition of curl relating to rotation like Sal did in the first video
@Physicsandmaths15 жыл бұрын
As soon as you draw the straight line I'm lost. I suppose this has something to do with matrices? I'm not familiar with that subject :( . I guess I'll have to go and study that first then. You probably have some video about it :P.

is curl (del operator) x v(vector) or (del operation on v vector)x v(vector)???

omg i get it
@HAWXLEADER12 жыл бұрын
you ppl need to get used to it... he normally says z direction or y direction instead of k hat and j hat... thats normal... that way he covers both the ijk system and the (x,y,z) system....

Not enough explanation, Krista king explains better in her video about gradient divergence and curl.
@ooker77714 жыл бұрын
why there is a minus before j?
@titirchatterjee11145 жыл бұрын
Its the rule of matrix..

@lg3629 жыл бұрын
why on earth did you do such a complicated messy first example.
@GauravSharma-mw2ft8 жыл бұрын
In the real world, functions are complicated and having an intuition helps solve them. Maybe that's why.

It's disgusting to hear the statement "I don't know" in every damn video of yours.If you do not know then how are you able to teach us?Please stop using that statement.

No need to be rude he is providing us free education videos.
