I wonder if spiral or regular perm rods would work better. The plastic long spiral rods might be an issue with the boiling water. You can probably use old 80s and 90s perm setting techniques to get a cool effects for a disco wig like piggy back perm method. In the method you use two perm rods on one strand of hair. When I was doing this in the 90s I used a smaller rod at the base of the hair strand to create fullness and support on the ends of the strand use a bigger rod for a fuller curl. I did create clip on extensions and used the boiling water technique with regular perm rods and it worked well. I liked seeing how you stacked the wigs. Nice video. BTW I'm new to wigs so your videos are very helpful thank you for doing them. I'm a licensed stylists since 1987 so I'm trying to merge my stylist experience into curling wigs. I haven't been an active stylist since 2003 when I switched careers. So 87 to 03 I still remember some stuff;)

its not really a tutorial but my favorite style of wig is a long colorful wig thats teased all the way out into a rats nest wig and blunt straight bangs, the best part about it is you can do it with a cheap 5$ shake n' go and it doesn't matter because hair spray and teasing takes away shine and bangs hide the hairline

If you want long tight curls you could use skewers. Like the wooden kebab skewers. That's if you want them tighter than the straws can give you.
