Truly thank you so much for taking the time to voice over this and upload it! omg I have been in need of a haircut too and I prefer volume over definition anyday lol. We have a similar hair pattern and density it seems, I definitely have to have my hair cut wet. When it's dry, it has a totally different mind of its own lol. I love your videos and I need to get that Pattern detangling brush🤎💙

Thank you for saying that. I honestly feel like I rushed this upload so much and I want to re-do it so badly! But I’m gonna leave it up lol. I may be attempting to rebrand the “clock method” because I honestly thought of the name while editing but now I have a better idea of how to carry out the haircut for a more detailed video worthy of the name “the clock method”. I've cut my hair wet for ..... my whole life basically. Manipulating it while dry stretches the curl so much or frizzes it out incredibly so that you really can't tell anything about how the final curl will look, sit, or layer. Once I knew the shrinkage difference between wet and dry I never had accidentally too short cuts anymore and my cutting, styling, and shaping was so much better than doing anything with it while dry. Knowing your individual curl and hair character is far more important than sticking to one method or technique for an entire category of hair. I'm cutting my hair soon and your tutorials have really helped me understand how to finally get the shape I want when so many other KZbin tutorials could not. I know this video was a long time in the making but I'm very grateful you went through with posting still cause it has been so helpful! Thank you thank you thank you! Hope you're well 💜

Exactly! We just have to figure out what works best for our own hair and our own capabilities and do that. I’d love to be able to pull off a dry cut but it just seems more challenging in terms of the crown area. Idk I just feel way more comfortable cutting my hair while wet. I know how curly my hair is and how much it’ll shrink and I try to cut according to that. Thanks for watching/commenting. I’m so glad my videos have helped you 🥰

@@CurlsbyShirlz Yes, thank you! I really think if I could step out of my own body and try a dry cut on my hair it would probably be good because I saw a video that explains it well. However, since I can’t stand behind myself, etc. I can’t imagine a dry cut working. I haven’t ran across any DIY dry curly cut videos and I suspect there is a good reason for that. But your videos are so helpful! I have watched quite a few DIY curly cut videos (even from hair stylists) and I like yours the best. I tried your Rëzo inspired video last year and loved it.

Have you tried the manes by mel pigtails cut? You will find it faster and achieve the same result with round layered shape. I did it and was amazed!

I haven’t tried that one! I totally would try it but every time I cut my hair, I try coming up with a new technique to be able to record lol. I actually have a few haircut videos I need to edit and upload. Plus it’s time to cut my hair again 😫. Manes by Mel is great. She makes such good content!
