Silicone will build up on hair and seal it off from moisture. If hair is hard to wet, or dries too quickly with a towel, there is a good chance the silicone is coating the hair. A good clarifying shampoo can remove the silicone build-up and a good silicone-free conditioner can actually moisturize the hair (if silicone is built up on the hair, the conditioner does not get into the hair shaft). Using an alcohol-free gel will lock in that moisture and a light oil (like Sweet Almond or Argan) controls frizz.

Hi. Your hair may be fine, but if you have a lot of it, it’s not thin, as a whole (you have a lot more hair than I do!). Whatever your hair is , it looks great, and you are fun to watch! I love your videos.

Fellow curly-girl here, you might ask your hairdresser to trim the bottom a little - when it is dry. That way it should dry and get rid of the spot on the back that is drying shorter.

The comment about silicon build up making hair dry was really important. I feel for you all , ladies who have hair problems . I have fine slightly wavy hair that now at 69 cut it really short. I have always been lazy with my hair because it has looked after itself after a good cut. This vlog has made me appreciate my hair so much more . I feel for you all who have to work hard at your issues. Renee, love this vlog. Thanks for sharing and this it will help so many. Go grey hair power as well. Jesus is the reason for the season , hope you all had a great time :)

I COULD NOT THANK YOU MORE for today's video! I have watched your other tutorials but this was VERY specific. I have purchased the products and used them but I don't think I have been using enough product to do the trick. I realize everyone's curls are different and I just have to keep playing around with it until I find the "magic"! Again thank you SO much! xoxo Happy New Year's Blessings everyone!

You are so welcome! Glad it helped you! And for me....I tend to use lesser amounts of each product in the summer for some reason. The weather really does play a part on how my hair acts...and when it's warm outside the product can weigh down my curls if I use too much. It's really just trial and error...and I still mess it up myself honestly. But hey....if it turns out bad I just put on a headband 😊

Good morning Renee. Your hair looks fantastic and I love the way you tame your curls🤗 Up until I was in my mid 20s, I had long, long hair so much so that I would sit on the ends. My hair routine was a long one as there was so much of it up until I decided to cut it off. Best decision🥰 but as I aged, I was colouring my greys up until this summer and just before leaving for Spain, I decided to let it go grey. While walking & spending all that time in the sun, my hair turned a glorious that quickly has vanished once I returned home. My water where I live is very alkalined, chlorinated and they add fluoride all of it which I have learned gives me the brassy colour at the top. On your recommendation, I am now using purple shampoo and has eliminated some of the brassiness. Thank you. Have a happy New Year for you, your family and give a hug to Pollux & Maxxie💞

I spend a lot on products for my thin mouse gray hair. I use a volumining shampoo, a spray for volume, then a serum for shine. I go get to the salon once a month for an application of "Shades" that covers my gray. Every three months I get highlights to give my hair some body. My Mother told me growing up that my hair was straight as a polker. Anyway, I wish I had a fourth of your curl volume and my hair was salt and pepper. Looks like you have conquered the beast with yours. LOL!

I love your hair. It is a beautiful salt and pepper color. My hair is more wavy with some curl. Your hair behaves very much like mine. I think I will try some of these products that you’ve used on your hair. I also use a purple shampoo (Shimmer Lights) to keep my hair from yellowing and it gives it a very pretty shimmer. I also use a diffuser on my dryer to keep the curls in place while they’re drying. My hair is much whiter than your hair. Usually white hair is drier than darker hair. Maybe it’s the aging thing! I have enjoyed your video and I’m going to try some of the products you use. Thanks for sharing and have a great New Year!

Oh wow....you've never used a diffuser?? This will be a game changer for you. I love my diffuser...I use the lowest setting to dry my hair. In the summer I do get antsy sometimes and use high for a few minutes. But the diffuser will dry your hair without blowing it around and creating frizz/craziness. I think you'll really enjoy it! My diffuser is on Amazon for $39....here's the link amzn.to/3CbRSWf

Thank You!!! I am STILL trying to figure out what will work for me and my curly hair. Honestly, growing up I had pretty straight hair with a slight wave... UNTIL going through "the change"... then things turned mysterious and crazy! lol For a few years I pretty much had the shortest haircuts I could get... I have let my hair grow out some for the past 3 or so years... I'm loving my curls, but it is definitely trying some days. It really helps me knowing that you deal with the same issues I do. Embrace your curls and coloring... (I went grey quite a few years ago too).... Your hair is beautiful.... lol
