I love your simple no fuss routine. I have coarse, thick, curly hair. I’ve worn it short all my life just to manage it. Wash and goes were my way to style. It was hit and miss trying to figure out what products to use. I started growing my hair for the first time a few years ago for religious beliefs. That’s when I turned to KZbin for help on how to manage my now long curly hair. There is a lot that I am learning from the KZbin community on how to look after curly hair. I’m still trying to figure out what works best for my hair. It’s a journey for sure. I’m kind of done with the brush styling techniques. It is too much work and time consuming. I am going back to my wash and goes. I have just learned that I have low porosity hair from my hairdresser during a hair spa treatment. My hair hasn’t felt that moisturizer in a very long time. My focus now is on deep conditioning my hair to improve the moisturizer balance in my hair. So the time I will save on styling will now go to deep conditioning. I have been grey most of my adult life as my hair was very resistant to dye when I was dying it in my 20’s. I would walk out of the salon with over processed hair and grey coverage that looked washed out. It was easy for me to transition to grey as I wore my hair short, and as it grew, I could hide the demarcation line fairly easily with my curls. Once I had enough length, I would go in for another supper short cut. It didn’t take long to cut out the colour damaged ends.

I had a similar experience letting my Curley grey hair come in. It took about 18 months until I could get most of the left over colored hair cut off but it was worth persevering. My hair is now healthy and soft. I'm a minimalist when it comes to styling and don't like stiff crunchy products, so I really appreciate your product recommendations.

I’m surprised that coloring your hair caused damage. I have bleached and toned my very fine, extremely dense (thick) hair my entire life, since I was 15. One year, I decided to dye it dark cherry brunette (redken). It was so shiny and beautiful. I eventually went back to platinum blonde and with the addition of Olaplex to the bleach process, I maintain my strong heathy hair. Grey hair primarily came in only at the back and sides of my head. In corkscrew curls that look exactly like an 80s spiral perm. The top remains my natural stick straight hair. I let it air dry, (I am retired and reside in the desert) as drying and straightening it daily would certainly damage my blonde hair. For special occasions, I apply product and straighten it. I am interested in trying your tips to manage the curls! I love grey on other people, but me not so much. Thanks for the great, helpful video! You are a joy to learn from.

you and your hair are so beautiful! I dyed my hair for the last time today, as close as possible to my natural color. It is so freeing! I have dyed it for 20 years because I thought ash/mousey blonde was so boring and un-original (especially here in scandinavia, lol). But I've decided to embrace it! Besides everyone is trying to dye their hair ash blonde now, and spending alot of time and money to maintain it. I'm ready for a year of bad hair days

Straight hair was the style & I didn't know about products so my hair would frizz out when I didn't use dippity do & sleep in large rollers. Years later I embraced my curls & but not my gray. Have colored my hair for years & have been planning to let my gray grow out for a while now. With my salon closed for so long I decided this is the time. So I am starting my journey of natural curly gray hair. Can't wait to try your suggested products soon.

I did buy the BedHead Diffuser , but I found even on the low setting it blew to hard and frizzed my hair. So how I use it now is I use my old standard diffuser to set my cast on my waves...then after I do my makeup I can use the BedHead diffuser as a hover dryer. to finnish off drying .... Keeping it it far enough away that the wind from it doesn't frizz up my hair. At least I'm getting use out of it. I think because you have thicker , heavier, curlier hair is why it works for you as a everyday diffuser. I don't regret buying it. But I don't think it works for all curly girls.

I wish I had some curl for some height instead of flat. I keep my hair in a pixie hair style. Just don't have time for fancy hair. Thank you for your KZbin channel very interesting to watch. Very helpful! Your curls look great. One question, you might of mentioned this but somehow I didn’t catch it, how often do you wash your hair? After the first day, do you go to putting your hair up? I have very thick curls that are on the frizzy side which might be from the damage that the dye has done. I’m washing about every 3 to 5 days. On the days I wash, I try to keep my hair just down or loose after I style it, but it’s so crazy out of control I end up in a pony or twist. I’m hoping as my colored hair grows out and the frizz gets cut off, the curls will be a little more manageable.

How do you keep the curls going all week so I don’t have to wash my hair every other day?
@WelcomeToMyCurls3 жыл бұрын
I do have to wash my hair every 2-3 days. It just feel gunky otherwise. I don't do anything particular to it otherwise. If it looks bad on day 2 or 3....I typically pull up the sides with a barrette or wear it up entirely :)

Hi Renee, I found you through your Pollux videos (Lovely boy). My hair couldn't be more opposite to yours 😔. It's very fine and quite thin. My skin is quite sallow so I'm worried that my hair and skin colour would blend if I went grey 😱. I'm 61 (31 in my head). I'm sure I would just end up looking like I'm 91 😭. Your hair looks truly fabulous. From Australia 👋

Wincy Meow - I went gray a couple of years, and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You just need to wear bright colors, and eye makeup/lipstick! You will look great I’m sure!

Do ever have problems with Frizzy hair? I have all gray curls and growing it out but the frizzy is driving me crazy.

I do get frizzy in the summer....or when the heat is on in the winter. The Skinny Serum from Paul Mitchell helps with that. If I use too much product to combat frizz, I find it weights my hair down and it feels greasy. So....I just tend to deal with it sort of :)
